The use a system of IOU's and it sounds like the exchange also buys some and can sell it in a 'virtual way' until such time that they have the actual coins in house.

I don't think there is such a precedent. Tezos being a completely new product with a completely new code base (and new smart contract language) means there's actual work to do that hasn't been done yet. (though its been under heavy development since 2014) I've not seen an official functioning wallet or official blockchain explorer.

The developers have said they were hoping to get coins released in about 4 months but if this runs along like every other software project I'd give it 6 months...

I'm glad this is flying so far under the radar, largest ICO maybe but from what I can tell, hardly anybody realizes this is a completely new product. I suspect most people think this is like the other 99% of ICO's recently, some copied solidity code from github and some poorly conceived business idea. I hope it does crash on the exchanges, I feel like these opportunities (having watched this space since 2014) rarely happen.

I've popped in week after week for years and its the same copied code re-branded with new names and logos over and over. There are just a few new products every couple of years it seems.  (Probably because real projects take years and years to develop unlike things like Bancor or the thousands of other 'assets' you see available which can be thrown together in a weekend.)

It's good for investors if they hit the exchange in a couple of months, when the market will be probably bullish again.
It will be probably be one of the, if not the, last crazy ICO.

I agree with you. Now would hurt them more.

Does anyone know what the total supply of tezos Coin? I want to see if it has great potential at being a 100 dollar plus coin since there was so much hype on this coin.

If everyone sells just when it comes out on trading then we will have to wait a long time before they increase in value. I personally keep my Tezos for many years..
This is a great project, and it takes everyone's patience

I will hold my Tezos for a longer time too. BTC was also not raising that much in the first years as they do now.

Is there an official Statement that Tezos will hitting the exchanges on 01/2018? I read that it is not shure when the will hit the exchanges but planed it in the common 3-4 Monts after sale in July.

They are offering futures. From my experience those futures will be backed some day by purchases of the real thing done by HitBTC. But this time we got an uncapped ICO so don't know if they could really back their futures.
And what Sumo told you. Those markets drop like a rock every freaking time.

tezos futures market will pump then tezos will dump on release. It will pump years later. My thoughts. Could be wrong.  Tongue

TEZOS has source code on gitbub. The DEV team is working, but I think a project will take time to develop. Rest assured it will be released soon. May be April

I think there are many problems with the tezos project. legal responsibilities and problems that can not be solved with the state. Moreover, there are troubled members in the team. I do not know how long it will take until the legalization process of all these solutions and the legalization of the project will end, but as long as these problems continue, I think it is better not to join the exchange market

01/2018 Tezos will hitting the exchanges

As much as I would like to see Tezos produce a token I don't have much faith at this point. 2 US based class action suits against them currently and a whole slew of negative press. I went into the ICO with some play money (32 ETH) so am not out as much as a lot of friends but it still stings. I read recently (not confirmed as of yet) there was a contractual obligation to deliver a toke to 1 of 3 major exchanges (Polo, Bittrex, and another I don't remember) by 12/28/17 or they had to refund tokens to ICO holders. I think the best thing would be to see the refund from a financial prospect (just my opinion).

The Pre ICO / Futures trading you see on one  exchange is not even close to actual value representation. The PAY / TenX ICO had futures on the same site that were up to 90 USD per token prior to launch. On launch day it crashed down to 18 USD within minutes and then met the same price of the actual tokens within a few hours. There were people who lost a LOT of money on that. I had also gone into that ICO and was pretty excited while following the ICO prices. Seeing how it played out taught me that the ICO value on that one exchange is nothing more than a pipe dream and unfortunate way to deceive people who may not realize what they are actually buying. As I understand the exchange in question has secured an amount of the tokens and the Pre ICO trading is backed with the idea that once a token is released you are entitled to get the number of tokens that match the number of ICO tokens you buy on their exchange. I have yet to see a single Pre ICO token get redeemed at even a fraction of the trading prices. The exchange loves it because they make money off every trade so its pure profit for them regardless of how the tokens go or the value holds. Don't get me wrong, its a smart move on the exchanges behalf but it just feels wrong and deceptive to me. This economy needs more honest players to continue building legitimacy. Until we get there it will be more negative news, bad bubble warnings, and exit scams. But hey, it is what it is.

Nothing would make me happier than to have to eat my words!!! This is one case where I would love to have thousands of flames pointing out I was wrong when I posted this. But I fear that won't be the case.
