If you are in loss why would you sell your coins how can you be so dumb. I can understand you are frustrated, who isn't? But this is temporary, one Bitcoin rises back your looses shall be covered and you shall gain rich rewards. I would advise you from refrain from selling your coins. It's a stupid move to sell in looses. Instead for few days do not look at the coins price, just sit tight and sell later at a profit I am sure you will earn a lot, maybe even a reward me for stopping you committing a blunder.

You are not losing money as long as you don't sell it. Selling Bitcoin right now is suicide, don't fail in the panic group. Otherwise, you will regret within a month. If you invested more than that and really needs the money, I suggest selling the excess after 15% of your assets, and keep the rest.

You guys should stop panicking and start thinking rationally. If you look at bitcoin's history you can clearly see that prices always tend to pump up at some point and then crash a couple weeks later to only recover in the next few years. If you just hold on to your coins for a year you should be good but if fyou're in crypto for a quick buck then perhaps this market isn't for you at this moment.

I too feel the same really. I bought @2500 and so far is a big loss, and at the rate its falling it will probably be worth nothing before 1st of Aug!

So now the question is to sell all now at a loss then wait a bit when the price is really cheap and buy again and end up with more coins? Wouldn't that be the sensible thing to do in this situation? I don't think the price will recover soon anyway as there is no reason for the price to go up now so the only way is down!

Why are you considering 22 July as an important date? As far as I know the most important date regarding all the fork FUD is the first of August.

Last summer Bitcoin's price lost half its value, but by Christmas it was hitting ATHs. Keep your coins, wait until next Christmas, and hope history repeats itself.

This is very good example how can someone miss the right moment for selling. He should sell week, or weeks ago and now to wait a good moment for getting back and to buy bitcoins with a discount. Learn from other people mistakes!
I don't know what to suggest to OP, it will be rough ride for bitcoins in next couple weeks. Selling right now can be a good decision, price is falling, and I think we will see lower price in next days. Selling now and buying when price go down more will bring more bitcoins, and if price go higher by the end of the year it will be a nice profit. This is risky but very possible outcome.

You are not the only one who suffered losses. Almost all people who have bitcoin experience the same thing. The current bitcoin price is undergoing a very deep correction. Selling it is a wise act because of course we do not want bigger losses anymore. I was very enthusiastic for a few weeks ago, but when I see the price of bitcoin at this time I immediately experience pain and also very strong stress. It's like a nightmare just happened.

Losses on paper shouldn't be something you should be looking at. If I look at my on paper loss, it comes close to $4000 in the last days, but it doesn't hit me at all.

I have seen my coins purely gain value since I bought a lot of them below the $500 mark. I am well aware of the fact that it can't always be like that.

Corrections (whatever might be triggering them) are part of Bitcoin, and basically any other financial market in the world. That's why you have to play it wisely, and cash out profits from time to time.

If people had chosen to cash out a certain part of their holdings not that long ago, they right now would have had fiat aside for situations like this. OP ~ don't sell. It's too late already.

Why does that means being dumb? I sold immediately when it started falling, when I sold price was 2300$ and I think I did great job. Look, it's nearly 1900 now. But now I am in trouble, don't know if I have to risk and buy it now or wait still for some days because everyone knows how strange it is, bitcoin.

I would not sell. Or sold only a part. I am sure that this panic will soon cease and we will again see an upward trend in the charts. You just need to wait a bit. In 2-3 weeks we can get a big price increase

Sell all and then do what? Back to banks? Once you know bitcoins there is no turning back.

I own a few bitcoins and I could have sold my coins when it was +2500$. I was so close to hit the sell button but I didn't. I hold bitcoins because I believe in bitcoins. I'm not here for a hit and run.

I also feel a lot more relieved when I keep my wealth out of the banking system. I was doing this with gold but gold is not going anywhere and it is not as practical as bitcoin If you decide to spend them...
