About Us:
TRAVEL TOKEN team is a Canadian based team (at the moment) comprised of travel industry experts, and limited software engineers; we’re expanding our team past only Canadians to hire more international software engineers to furthermore excel our development and progress towards reaching the fully operating application.
Our Project:
TRAVEL TOKEN (TRAV) plans to allow you to travel using cryptocurrency in main cities around the world. This will include allowing you to use TRAV to hire taxi cabs, luxury car escorts, and other means of ground travel. This token will be limited to only ground travel due to the regulations and rules that govern air travel. TRAV will allow you to use any means of ground travel that has partnered up with us to allow payments via TRAV.
How is this possible:
A large problem with using a cryptocurrency is that there is no ID or person backing the payments as they’re largely made “anonymously”. Therefore the original plan of the team, which was to create a cryptocurrency that would allow you to rent vehicles to travel alone was put to rest due to this idea of anonymity. Instead of quitting on the idea of generating a crypto based travel possibility we decided to begin switching our focus to adapting it into currently existing travel services.
How does it work:
TRAV has been in contact with over 30 major ground travel corporations world-wide over the last year to develop a ground of rules and regulations that will allow travel companies to provide their services via a decentralized token.
An Example of how TRAV will work:
1.) Using the TRAVapp on your phone or PC you will ping your location at which you need the services* provided and the location of your destination. The TRAVapp will show you the total expected costs (not including traffic time delays, +-3% of cost) and check your balance to ensure you have sufficient funds. The ping will then go through our server to the closest and fastest available provider and initiate the order.
2.) Your TRAVapp will make a deposit via TRAV soon as you ping the location to cover a percentage of the costs of the providers gas and mileage to the pick-up location (if excess of 10 minutes to your location is required). The deposit is contributed towards your final payment of the trip, unless cancelled upon arrival at your pick-up location in which case it will keep the deposit (up to a maximum amount – more details to come).
3.) Once the service* has arrived it will ping you on your phone via TRAVapp. The TRAVapp will also have the option of checking 5 minute interval updates (if requested) of the location of the service* that is coming to you.
4.) Upon arrival you will enter the service vehicle and be greeted and treated as any other taxi cab, limousine etc. would do regularly. The driver of the vehicle will be licensed and registered and all the companies that are currently in contact with do have video surveillance within the service vehicles. Upon arrival of destination it will automatically deduct the balance for the trip, and provide a receipt and give you the option to tip via TRAVapp or you can provide your own tip (if any) via cash or other methods.
Legal Discrepencies:
Currently TRAVapp will only be working with ground travels due to regulations of air travelling and rules of national security. We DO NOT plan to integrate air travels into our company in near sight (there may be potential for adaption years down the road).
Current Accomplishments:
Over the last year, since the idea was brought to light in May 2016 our initial team of 5 began to reach out to major ground travel corporations, which at first comprised of only taxi-cab companies in the major cities world-wide. Noticing the interest from amongst the first 50 companies the team began to outreach to other means of travel such as luxury car escorts and limousine services.
Currently our team has 44 on-going negotiations with world-wide companies, 26 of which have confirmed and the team has signed agreements that cannot be discussed due to agreement policies until the release of the main-net of the project (expected January 2018).

The team is already in contact with luxury travel services such as local yacht cruises, local boat cruises and more that will be discussed to allow you to spend TRAV to arrange these sorts of services. The team also plans to expand TRAV at a later point to arrange for tour guide services and other tourist attractions that DO NOT require identification or credit card deposit for usage. Focus on these aspects will not be narrowed into until after the release of the main-net which is the current focus of the team.
