Okk guys so I am new to mining. Without taking into account the availability of the cards and talking only based on their hashrates and power from the wall and ROI and also their company prices. Can you guys tell me which is the best card to use for mining. Looking at ETH/ETC now and moving on to VTC/UBIQ/ZEC/XMR.

There are only handful of cards which can mine efficiently: RX 470/480 RX 570/580 GTX 1060 1070 1080. Check your stores and see which cards you can grab for a good price point and start from there. Anyway, GTX 1060 and 1070 are quite good considering their price point and as Radeons are out of stock most of the places, they seem a fair option.

Got some R9 290 mining ETH at 29.7mh/s each with no electricity costs. Still profitable at all but only with no electricity costs. You can get those if you're lucky for 170$-190$.

I think the best one right now is the GTX1070. And this one will have a better resale value then a RX480/580 since it gives way better performance for gaming.

GTX 1050Ti 4 GB 1 fan (cheaper),
GTX 1070 8 GB 2 fans but only 1 6+2 pins (less power consumption in VGA BIOS settinfs),
... and soon : nVidia Volta (AMD VEGA is pure shit)
What is your choice, my friend :-).

I had to settle for the 1050ti. Couldn't find anything else or couldn't get more than one. Its not bad for the price if you can catch it on Amazon for 150. Im a slowly build a 2nd rig and deciding between 1070 and 1060 6gb as they become available. |

Depending on what you mine and if you can get them. If you mine ZCash i think the 1080 is the best way to go. If you want a long term solution the 1070 is your best pick. As far as i know the MSI ones are perfect (like these https://cryptosupply.xyz/product/msi-geforce-gtx-1070-gaming-8g/ ). I do have 12 GTX 1070's now and i'm happy with it since i can mine Zcash at 450 Sols and Ethereum at 31 so they both do great |

If the 290x cards wont cut it for you, you can get most bang for your bucks with the nvidia 1070 cards.

You are lucky you can still find rx470 in your place, here in my country it is like searching for a needle in a hay stack. I gave up searching for rx 470, yesterday i bought 2 units of Palit gtx 1070 dual fan both have micron memory chips. Can easily reach 30 to 31 Mh/s with a temp. between 58 to 63 degrees celsius, i'm satisfied with the performance. |
