No and I don' think there will be another fork in the future of ethereum. Besides, 110 million usd should be in the wallet of white hat hackers
Yes people from ICN and SWT confirmed it was a group they were working with that did the whitehat hack so the funds are 100% sure to be returned. And even if its not Vitalik already said there won't be another fork. The reason for the previous fork was that the hackers would control too large a stake of the ethereum network which would be to their advantage after a PoS switch. This time even counting the whitehat we are only looking at 3% of the ethereum network, its just that its got a much higher value now due to ethereum having gone up in value.

Also all those people chiming in saying xxx coins in unhackable, mainly it is because the coin(s) do not have vast value as of yet, so you are relying on security via obscurity for the moment. Anything is hackable.
the most valuable cryptocurrency with the most usage and biggest number of users is bitcoin. hackers have been trying to find exploits in bitcoin to hack it for 8.5 years and they have been failing. the only thing they could do so far is hacking exchanges, stealing wallets with no password, and tricking idiots into giving them their private key directly
edit: here is a bitcoin MultiSig containing 119,635 BTC = $282 Million feel free to start hacking it https://blockchain.info/address/3D2oetdNuZUqQHPJmcMDDHYoqkyNVsFk9r
ethereum is supposed to be a smart contract platform and already has the biggest shame of all times: the DAO and the news keeps coming. who is to say there aren't more exploits waiting to happen on this coin. there sure are a lot of them happening these days as price is still somewhat high. you know hackers never kill something right away, they do it slowly to gain the value. like this hack which was only a small amount not all ($32 mil) while the main hacker could empty everything at once. Seems I was right from the very begining, I didn't like this coin and for me main reasons were hardforks. Suddenly as we see it has bugs and is not safe, seems it's very hard for altcoins to be concurent of bitcoin, many fails..... As you mentioned, bitcoin is safe (can't say it don't has bugs but currenrly no one has done anything). I think there will be another etc hard forks again, hope finally something will be fixed at least

There is no coin that cannot be hacked but btc has equally proven over the years to be a formidable force against hackers which is something we continue to hope and this impending hardfork does not create a vacuum to be exploited for such purpose.

And even if its not Vitalik already said there won't be another fork. as i said in my previous comment, i tend to stick to facts not promises. and someone pointed out something very interesting about last time, and the fact that the White Hat hacker tried to sell part of the saved coins on poloniex! The reason for the previous fork was that the hackers would control too large a stake of the ethereum network which would be to their advantage after a PoS switch. This time even counting the whitehat we are only looking at 3% of the ethereum network, its just that its got a much higher value now due to ethereum having gone up in value.
this is correct. and i did not know this when i created the topic. i did some research yesterday which found out DAO hack was something around 14% of the total supply i believe. but the important part is still the fact that the main Ether holders lost money not the poor nobody users like this hack. but the poll results are still funny though, despite Vitalik saying fork is not going to happen and this reason, and all the explanations still 35% voted YES. it seems like everyone loves free altcoins they can get and dump

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip. Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

For people to keep trusting Ethereum smart contracts with hundreds of millions of dollars when people developing for ethereum clearly don't have any real experience or knowledge to actually security test the stuff they're deploying is just craziness. With all the crazy inconsistencies in Solidity as well as the sloppy approach to updates that they push in Ethereum updates (look at the Geth update that changed address handling that cost QuadrigaCX $14 million worth of ETH) and it's just crazy that people are willing to build anything financially important on top of Ethereum. I think just proves Tezos is taking the right approach here-it's using less popular languages that really only appeal to developers who give a crap about verifying their contracts are secure before deployment, but that's exactly what all these financial contracts SHOULD be. Nobody should just be deploying contracts to manage hundreds of millions of dollars without giving a second thought to critical bugs. Anybody who really thinks Ethereum can be "fixed" to work well for these sorts of uses needs to read a couple things: This post and comments were from before the hack even happened: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=14691212And the comments in this thread are also very enlightening: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=14807779

It definitely seems that ETH has many flaws even though it some may not be related to ETH it's self. I dont know why these new projects don't try using other platforms to launch their ICO's...But then again ETH may be getting all of this attention from hackers because its currently #1. Maybe if another platform becomes just as popular we will see the same thing happen.

This is why we need a coin like Tezos, with formal verification.

ETH is actually difficult to hack, most of them who lost their money caused because they enter their private key in web fishing.
We will not know what will happen in the future for etherwallet, we will see how the vital action to deal with things like this

The problem is... NO BODY CARES. Which means, Vitalik will not send that losted ETH back to the owners. Also ETH blockchain sucks, lacking with sidechains. And I don't like thier politic on the market. It's a big money bubble based on smart-contracts.

I don't care about these hacking attacks as I know these hackers will be caught ultimately, monero or that kind of coins' transactions can be tracked.

Thats too harsh buddy and it seems you do really love for those new comers to get burned. It will really definitely happen specially for those people who dont have much idea on entering without knowing the recent events on eth ecosystem. Prices will really roll back specially theres a lots of coins have been hacked already.
