There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Unfortunately not, you can't swap the coins anymore and have lost your coins.

The reason for this is because DFS is swapping to a new coin in order to allow them to update their code base. We contacted their development team on March 26th to find out more about the swap, however since no details were provided about upcoming update we will be delisting the DFSCoin as per our Delisting Policy.

Good way to treat your investors - IF you don't put your coins here by X date you lose them.  Clearly an amateur project run by morons.  There are minnow projects who had the decency and forethought to come up with a simple way to allow users to swap their coins if they missed the date that was posted on a bitcointalk thread.

I was holding a lot of these coins in cryptopia and now they are simply "lost".  Too bad.

We started notifying our investors on January 2nd of our plans to swap and rebrand to FGC. Every step along the way we kept everyone updated on discord, twitter, telegram, reddit and this forum. Communication with Cryptopia along the way was horrible due to their poor customer service and taking weeks to respond to emails. In the end Cryptopia didn't want to help us with the swap and decided to delist us and send an email to DFS holders that didn't accurately portray the situation. Immediately after the email was sent, we notified Cryptopia of our plans to do the swap on Coinexchange. They decided not to update their customers of the situation even though we highly recommended it.

Once Coinexchange decided to do the swap we notified our community on a daily basis through Discord, Twitter, Telegram, Reddit, Bitcoin talk and fantasy gold.io of the swap on April 30th. We believe we did absolutely everything we could to let everyone know of the SWAP. In the end there has to be a set deadline due to the many scams that happen surrounding swaps.

I need to study more information about the project. Let's see how this project will develop. Maybe this project is a good investment!

Thats a load of BS from the DEV team. Nice way to make some extra money for themselves. Also a nice way to have lost a lot of support by not dealing with the other exchanges who have been asking questions about the swap and have not received answers.

Thank you for screwing a lot of us out of our money.

For that sole purpose, where you know some exchanges are not cooperating as you'd like, there should be a safety net in place for your other supporters.  Many coins who swapped/forked allowed for A: A longer term of notification, and much more important B: After the deadline coins could still be swapped albeit with a cost.

Swap Concerns

Please join the Discord and privately message @DFSEXPLOSIVE#4312 .  Although the swap ended on April 30th after months of notifying the community in  Discord, Telegram, Twitter, and Bitcointalk, the official team is working to help those in some capacity that missed it.

Please be patient and we'll see on Discord.

What a load of BS from you. You only have to scroll to the top of this page and pages before to see that they have and the community have announced for ages that the swap was happening and how it was going to happen. Then if you go to all their social media outlets you will find the same information. If you didn't take the time over the last few months to keep up with current events of the project you have money invested in, then IMHO you're are a terrible investor/trader. It take 5-10 minutes a week to keep up with your investments.

So don't blame the hard working team here for improving and moving forward with the roadmap because you're to lazy to check in on your investment.

In the opening topic, even NOW, it was not stated. Now there only is 1 sentence which links to the new FGC. Thats a serious miss on part of the dev team. And this might be a weird concept, but many people invest in crypto for LONG term, not to be shuffling it every other day and will put the coins for example on a stickdrive or other hardware wallet only to look every other 6 or even 12 months. That's not bad investment strategy, its about remaining calm and confident and riding it out.

Furthermore, there were more exchanges who traded DFScoin. Then why allow only 1 to do the swap? Again, not supporter friendly.

Besides that, i also have plenty of real-life work that needs to be done with much bigger investments. Take a wild guess as to what has priority? In that pov is also why i take the long route with the crypto investments. It's a nice bonus if 1 comes through and have a very broad portfolio for that reason.

I'm sure the dev's are working hard, but the manner in which this was processed, could have been handled very differently. And should have had.

Now in hindsight, in getting negative comments, the devs ARE looking at ways to help their supporters. (Which is good, it's better to try and solve in hindsight than to do nothing) But.... That should have been thought about BEFORE the swap.
