In my opinion it is better if you invest on bitcoin later of august 1 because there are many news spreading that bitcoins price will be totally zero that I think is impossible to happen but to make sure and to avoid the risk you should invest after the august 1. However, if you insist and you wanted to make a profit then try to invest on altcoins. You should conduct some research on what altcoin do you prefer.

No. As usual any time must be the right time for investing into bitcoins  regardless of what is going to happen by august 1. Even in the case of occurrence of chain split, I do not think both the chain will come down. The high power chain will grow with the name as bitcoins. Then why we need to invest into altcoins now ?

Moreover, only softfork is going to happen by august 1 hence there will be no threat of chain split hence we are going to have more stronger bitcoin ecosystem after august 1. So, this must be the very much right time to invest.

Wait, maybe you should invest your money into bitcoin after august. Many say that it will be void, but just in case, better investment after august, and do not be late, because the price will actually go up.

If you really think that the price of bitcoin would go up ,then why would you wait ,if you have the money just invest in it and think about it later,no matter what everything will be fine when things settles down and the price would rise,even if there is a split you will be earning those coins at a 1:1 ratio,so in my mind there is nothing to worry at the moment.

I think is better to invest now in bitcoin than to wait till later when the market value of Bitcoin will increase to the level that you cannot afford to buy and earning from signature campaign will then be reduce as a result too. I was in this same confusion early last year when the value of Bitcoin was around  $1000 or below but afraid to buy and currently the market value of Bitcoin has double now. i will wait until August 1, whatever will happen after that day or on that day, i think bitcoin can recover no matter what so it's better to buy now or it's still ok until August 1, it's just not more than 1 week of waiting anyways.

i will wait until August 1, whatever will happen after that day or on that day, i think bitcoin can recover no matter what so it's better to buy now or it's still ok until August 1, it's just not more than 1 week of waiting anyways.

Just need after August 1st Bitcoin and SegWit2x happening normally, the market cryptocurrency will recovery soon. Don't hurry at now, keep our calm and patience in current until after this time very important for avoid some loss money.

Another try to spread FUD. Stop spreading lies. Bitcoin is not going to be zero after August 1st. Infact what so ever dip we are seeing now is most probably going to end and Bitcoin will jump back to $2800 in no time. BCC is most probably not going to survive longer.

Offcourse, you should. I can assure you that Bitcoin is the best asset to invest in when it comes to long term. Many a times for short term as well. You will definitely gonna double your todays investment by next year.

If you want, go and check the track record of Bitcoin through some charts. How Bitcoin market expanded and grown in years since its inception. Still a lot of market potential is available to Bitcoin.

As far as I know, whether you invest before or later of August 1st, the result will be the same, which is you will profit if you keep it in a long time.

I'm waiting to get a small pool of money from a few friends. We all decided to get about $1,000 dollars. Hopefully by September. Then we will get bitcoin at whatever price it is. And keep it. We will add to it every 3 months. It will be like a savings/investment. We have no wish to trade or invest other than just to grow our balance. Maybe this is an idea for you.

You can invest in Bitcoin anytime you are ready with funds, mate.

I hold a diversified portfolio. I have invested in Bitcoin, altcoins, stocks as well as gold and my dad has even invested into property. But trust me no other investment was as less riskier and provided better returns than Bitcoin. Altcoins might interest you for short teem trading as they can double your money if chosen wisely. But the problem is the choice only. If you want to remain tension free about your investments. Stay in Bitcoin and hold them for a year. Regarding 1st August. There isn't much to worry about. You can invest now or after 1st August that is on you but don't do any transaction near 1st August. Profit will be there no matter when you invested. Here are people who have bought at $2800, they would be equally profitable.

The idea itself is nice at first glance, but it seems like it is something you guys came up with after a night drinking. How will that work out in terms of funds being stored? Who stores and has access to the funds? Have you thought about a scenario where one of your friends may run off with the funds? Seriously, no matter how well you think you know your friends and family, there is always a possibility where they will just steal the funds. Money makes even friends and family do things you never expected from them. If you ever going to proceed with this, at least make sure you make use of multisig. Google it.

If you were to invest, then invest after 1st August. I think that there is going to be a lot of panic because even though BIP91 has gained a lot of support(actually well over 80% at the moment looking from last 1k blocks perspective) the bitcoin cash fork is going to go through on 1st August.

So yeah, not exactly good news for bitcoin and a lot of people will dump.

However if you are impatient and want to invest before 1st August then make sure you store your private key securely. Do NOT use an online wallet service because they may not be able to provide you with tokens on both blockchains. Make sure you hold your own private keys, so that after the fork you can claim your BCC coins and do w/e you want with them.

I have very same problem, it is hard to time when to go in buying precious btcs. But it might be good time right now as we expect something similar to halving that can create bull market.

My advice to you mate is you should  hold your bitcoin for several days days and never mind that creation of bull market, anyways it doesn't make sense investing additional holding while we stil not certain after the changes when August came. You should sell later your remaining coins and I am confident of the price to be rising up higher in the near future. So be patient and have a focused mind and don't let your mind control over your physical ability like selling in a wrong time.

Don’t waste time invest in bitcoin now and you will make money, however if your greatest want when it comes to investing is to make money and get profits then the chances of doing that with altcoins is greater than with bitcoin, so at the end you need to decide what is what you are looking for.
