For me, BCH will not overcome BTC because BTC is the origin of all cryptocurrency. Also, BTC has a very large value that BCH can't reach but I am hoping that BCH will increase its value even not more or equal to BTC's value at least BCH will have a good price.

You do have a point there, mate. Bitcoin will always be the most prominent cryptocurrency on the markets, since it is the original cryptocurrency which brought us the blockchain technology. Without it, many of the cryptocurrencies we know and love today wouldn't have been possible. Considering that BCH is just a fork from the original Bitcoin blockchain, it may never replace it, the same way ETC never replaced the original Ethereum.

Therefore, I believe that in the future both of these cryptocurrencies will co-exist (Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash) providing people with options whenever they want to quickly send a transaction or just secure their investments for the long term. Whenever it is Gold (BTC) or Cash (BCH), there will always be a choice for anyone to transact in this rapidly evolving technology. Just my thoughts Grin

The thing that makes Bitcoin Cash distinguish from Bitcoin is the ability to send fast transaction and the chance to host more transactions in one block, or that's what they told.

After 2016 blocks of fast transaction, there will be few days of very slow transaction since the difficulty increased drive the miners switch to mine Bitcoin instead of Bitcoin Cash. Mining Bitcoin Cash will only be more profit than mining Bitcoin after the Emergency Difficulty Adjustment.

Who will benefit from this kind of arrangement? Miners. There's no coincidence that people calling Bitcoin Cash the Miner's Bitcoin.

This makes the Bitcoin Cash a much less reliable comparing to Bitcoin.

So, to the question laid by OP, the answer is no way.

We will be two months after the creation of Bitcoincash and they are struggling in the third position and their value depends so much on Bitcoin status, So I don't think Bitcoincash will be on the level of Bitcoin I have an opinion that it will slide further to number 5 to 7

It is possible. But a very little chance of happening. The capability of bitcoin core is far better than that of bitcoin cash. Bitcoin cash needs to reach bitcoin's characteristics before it can overcome bitcoin. Another thing is that bitcoin cash must match its reputation within the community. We all know that bitcoin core is famous and has a good reputation, it is a big challenge to bitcoin cash if it has to overpower its core.

if chinese mining goes then so does bch's viability unless they change algorithm. it ain't being mined anywhere else and it's closely aligned with china.

That's also what I'm thinking bch can't surpass the value of btc as its proven that this coin only relied on how btc has been supported unless the miners will switch and start mining bch, its all about support and what would be the offer of this coin  while waiting for another fork this coming November.

The answer to your question - NO.
Why?
Because Bitcoin Cash took birth in such a situation where miners wanted to switch to a technology which could give everyone a better solution to their needs - FASTER TRANSACTION CONFIRMATIONS & LOWER FEES. BCH supporters thought they would get enough miners to support their project but the fact is that, only 5% of miners switched to it and the remaining stick themselves to Bitcoins because they liked the idea of compressing the transaction size instead of going for bigger blocks. Though, it is remarkable that it's still in the news as well as gaining attraction from investors too. There's a notable thing currently that there may be a trading opportunity in the upcoming week as BCH guys will be holding a conference. But Bitcoins are too good no one can resist having one and BCH still looks not more than a Pump and Dump coin.

Honestly Speaking I don't think that will happen. I don't know but it seems BCC appears to be appealing to miners only. As of now haven't heard any news about it. Well personally i don't feel embracing BCC at all so i believe it will not overcome BTC.

if you do believe that then why did you even start this topic!

also ETC is the original chain and ETH is the fork, LOL
and the main difference is that nobody wanted either of them. the community was already split because so many lost money because of the ETH bug and so many others didn't or even if they did they believe that a "roll back" which was the only reason for the fork is a terrible idea.

Well, I started this topic in the first place because I was afraid that BCH would gain too much traction in price, eventually taking over Bitcoin's place in market cap. But, as time passed by, its growth in value have staled because of miners constantly switching to the BTC chain and viceversa.

Given the fact that there is no real development for BCH (as far as I'm aware of), I believe that it won't be getting anywhere soon. Despite the facts, it would be interesting to see what will happen in the future with both BTC and BCH. Wink

bitcoin cash transaction speed is the same as bitcoin! you forgot that it is the fork of bitcoin with nothing different regarding "transaction speed" which is block time. and if BCH is also spammed it will become the same slow one during the spams.

and i agree, it will exist the same way Pandacoin, Rabitcoin, Dogecoin, HTML5, GAYcoin,... are still existing alongside bitcoin.

You do have a point there. BCH is just like BTC with the only difference of implementing a bigger block size. At first, I've got confused and thought that having a bigger block size would contribute towards faster transaction speeds, but then I've that in this case it won't have much effect since the block time is relatively the same.

Nevertheless, BCH may remain among the top 3 cryptocurrencies in market cap over the course of time. It will be Bitcoin, the Ethereum, and finally Bitcoin Cash as the third largest cryptocurrency by market cap. Smiley

Not sure why you'll say that bitcoin cash is only used currently because of it profitable mining and the free cash coin. The price has been up and down for this coin but not a major breakthrough has happened in it's price till now except beating ripple in terms of cap. It does look like a good to hold but i feel it's more vulnerable to fall overtime

Pretty sure about this, I'm a Bitcoin cash lover now but it will not overcome the original bitcoin. There are even some other popular alt coins that are good and making it's marketcap higher than BCH but it will never overcome or replace the spot of bitcoin in the market. Bitcoin is the original and no one can replace it, many have tried but all of them failed from this thing.

Completely true, mate. It is now seen that Bitcoin Cash is just a mere altcoin and will be very unlikely to replace the original pioneer cryptocurrency in the long term. Given that it lacks development and innovation, BCH is just another altcoin from the pack.

People will go towards using the king of cryptocurrencies as a store of value, and eventually as digital cash when it becomes improved over time. Since Bitcoin has an established reputation and branding, there could be virtually no cryptocurrency which could replace it in the long term.

Unless another crypto comes in which addresses all of BTC's underlying issues with greater tech, I see that the pioneer cryptocurrency will remain as king of crypto for many years to come. At first, I've thought that BCH was going to get traction and overcome Bitcoin, but after I've seen its lack of interest among people and development, I've realized that it won't grow much in the market. It is only a matter of time before BCH survives for the long term or not. Just my thoughts Grin

I agree with you that Bitcoin cash can overcome the Bitcoin about the price. However, it can not replace the role and the effection of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is always the first coin of the cryptocurrency. No one can negate the truth.

Maybe Bitcoin Cash can overcome the original Bitcoin in terms of user acceptance and scalability. But, in terms of price, it may never overcome the pioneer cryptocurrency since it has a greater market cap than BCH, as well as it continues to grow exponentially in value over the course of time.

While Bitcoin Cash may be far from overcoming Bitcoin Core anytime soon, it may overcome Ethereum in terms of market cap and become the second largest cryptocurrency in the market. One thing for sure is that BCH's fees are cheaper than Bitcoin's and once people realize that, they will make most of their transactions with Bitcoin Cash. Last time, I've made a transaction with BCH and it only cost me $0.01 in fees. Compare that to Bitcoin which costs you around $25 in fees, making it impractical for transferring small amounts of money.

Of course, I'm not a fan of big blocks but given the fact that it reduces costs for fees, i'd say that BCH has quite an advantage over Bitcoin here. On the other hand, there's the Lightning Network and Schnorr Signatures for Bitcoin Core which will greatly enhance the pioneer cryptocurrency's transaction throughput. Just my opinion. Smiley

Everywhere I have seen too many criticisms against Bitcoin Cash, but apparently investors are not taking these critics so seriously when deciding where to put their money. I have read some opinions that the BCH could displace the bitcoin but I think that will never happen, in fact I see that they can coexist healthily and even complement each other. I do not see why the existence of one is to the detriment of the other.
