What is happening is completely different from what most of people had predicted. There was lots people believed that Bitcoin price will fall very much due to high supply. Now Price is increasing due to high demand. Those who have sold their Bitcoins want to buy again. I think the huge increase in price have not started yet. It will happen after August 1.

I feel like this is exactly what's going on.  The price is being driven up so that they can pull the floor out on everyone and make bigger money on the short.   Then it'll go back up again.

The thing I'm trying to figure out is why ETH has all of a sudden stopped following BTC.  For the past week at least they've been in lockstep.  ETH did exactly the same thing BTC did.  That stopped today and I think it might support my theory that the efforts are being focused on manipulating BTC.

I think that the price of Bitcoin is constantly changing due to the oncoming August 1 update. Many users of Bitcoin are unsure and/or afraid of what is going to happen and as a result the market is constantly changing to a certain trend: hold or sell. Also, many people are trying to manipulate the market thorough FUD and various other methods. More and more methods are being employed to scare the average users to bring the prices down lower for investors to buy up at a low price.
 
I still highly recommend holding onto your Bitcoins and not selling at this stage. I think the price will rapidly climb in the weeks/ months after August 1.

A lot of people predict that bitcoin prices will go down, but it seems that before 1 August bitcoin continues at the pump, and maybe the issue of August 1 will be good news for us all bitcoin users, with new ico emerging, it also shows that capacity Digital currency continues to be popular among us

There will be a hardfock so the price will drop, i'm not sure how significantly. But after drop price of BCC will go up, cause of good scalability and price of Bitcoin BIP148 will go down cause people will not be able to pay with this shit even for a cup of coffee so they will abandon this ship.

At any rate it would be a good idea to hold onto what you have and continue to buy. I really like what I am seeing about BTC becoming more accepted worldwide. It is only a matter of time now before it goes mainstream.
