I wouldn't have the guts to do something like this right now either, so don't think you're a bad person or something. I'd rather avoid all of the issues with Bitcoin when it comes to the network and solutions (Bitcoin Cash Aug 1st) and just see what this looks like in a month or so.

I'm not going to stop earning Bitcoins, and I'm going to be doing the same thing I've always done with Bitcoin in which I've earned -- which is going to be simply taking in the BTC and selling it on coin base with one of those instant sell addresses.

Don't think you're not part of this if you're not buying right now, I'm going to assume that tons of whales are thinking the same thing as you right now.

We are close to that "before day 1" thing but look at the price. If it will goes down straight then it must be happened now or the price decrease recently should not climb up more. Meaning there are lots of buyers anticipating the price increase after August 1st.

P.S I don't see any hype activity of BCC.

Bitcoin Cash or BCC is a lame duck and its not going to happen, a lot of exchanges are saying that they don't plan on using it and it seems that it's going to be worthless anytime soon. I will hold on buying any bitcoins for a while and see what happens after the August 1.

Im pretty sure it IS going to happen, unless somehow they back down, but the main point is, it does NOT matter if they hardfork. Anybody can hardfork at any time, everyone is free to fork BTC into their own alt and call it whatever they want, the difference is if they will get enough hashrate, and enough market support, which I doubt. All whales will dump their BCC for more BTC. This is the final act of faith in the coin. And I doubt that Roger Ver will dump all their BTC for BCC.

Well, especially with the amount of FUD on this forum alone with click bait titles like "Segwit will kill bitcoin or "Bitcoin will die to segwit" it certainly is no surprise that people are expecting a price drop before August. Now that it is August, I can confirm that this hasn't happened. Bitcoin will mostly likely not split at all and August the first will have no impact on bitcoin.

Don't listen to FUD people, one of the reasons why bitcoin dropped to 2k a couple weeks back was due to the amount of fud that was being spread.

Same here !  well absolutely many people are sharing the same feeling just like you do , Me myself also hold to buy some bitcoins stating the fact that hard fork will probably begin after 3 days , I suggest if you don't have that big risk appetite don't buy for now until we confirm that bitcoin was already stable and we can already  do a safe transaction  .

Are you guys really considering to send your Bitcoins to other exchanges in hopes of receiving some BCC? imagine if they take the coins and run with millions of Bitcoins, what would you do then? Bitcoin will always be and remains Bitcoin, hard fork or not the longest chain is the real coin. buying or not buying doesn't change the fact that Bitcoin will grow over time, not to mention the next halving.

Meh, I just bought a small amount.  It's money I can afford to lose, so I'm not going to cry about it if bitcoin tanks post-split.

I'll be watching with bated breath to see what's going to transpire come Aug 1st.  I'm still a bit fuzzy about what's going to happen with my Mycelium wallet and the btc I have in there.  Should have taken computer science in college!

But I'm bullish on bitcoin and I know a lot of other folks are, too.  So I'm not worried, and I had at least some guts to buy BTC.  We'll see what happens.

Segwit is locked in, that's what you need to consider. Segwit is inherently bullish except for the conspiracy theorists that claim Segwit is a mistake and could create a DAO type situation within bitcoin because of the transaction format. I think this is exaggerated FUD.

Once we clear out the BCC nonsense, the price will go up. If you buy before August 1st, you will have both BTC and BCC, so you can always dump BCC for free BTC and in case BTC price goes down against the dollar, you still get more BTC. Consider that.

I think you can even neglect the BCC bullsh*t. What really matters is 'will Segwit activate?'. Because miners can signal what they want, but if for example F2Pool stops signaling during the signal period there will be no Segwit at the end of August, as they need 95%.

Keep in mind how reliable miners are.

Once Segwit IS activated, that's when the real party starts imho.

Just think about the game theory involved in miners backing out. We have 100% of miners signaling for BIP91-BIP141, the thought of them backing out would be devastating for them. The community would hate them for life, only the /r/btc nutjobs would think the miners are heroes, the rest of the community will hate them and their reputation is pretty much at all time lows perpetually.

Let them do something stupid and just watch the consequences.

Hmm I know the feeling.I'm always there too. If you are more of a medium to long term holder, you can look for a relatively low point to buy and keep or even convert back to Fiat when you feel the price is overbought and you can again buy back at cheaper price with more amount of Fiat to get more BTC.

When BTC was $600 to $800, I was always afraid to buy bcoz I always thought the price was too high, now see where the price is. I always wished I bought more then.

Anyways its never too late as I know Bitcoin will always scale through the hustles no matter how much FUD..

Will plummet? Before maybe but after August 1st I don't think so. Split or not , I don't think it can devalue much the price of bitcoin. Remember the classmate fork of this BCC? No one succeeded and Im sure the same scenario will happened to BCC.

Majority of bitcoin users will dump if they anticipate that the price will goes down more. We only have few days to go before August 1st but still price is incredibly getting support at $2500 above.

The price remains at an altitude for several reasons. One of them is the fact of the split transfer to November. People calmed down and decided to buy bitcoin again. I think that we should not give in to panic and behave as if on August 1 nothing will happen. Probably so it will be

I have also saved bitcoin, I think BCC will hit a good value. It is also a real coin, and it has the same power as BTC. The turn is creating two twins.

Most of the exchanges will be closed over the next week, so we will not see the real impact of this until trade volumes pick up. I predict that it will be slow for the next 3 weeks and then it will go ballistic. ^smile^

Well, yes. I would advise you to be cautious at this time of the year with August 1 tomorrow. I do not think that you can even trade anymore, but I may be incorrect (don't quote me).
However, with all this panic, it may actually be smart to invest into Bitcoin as the price will most likely increase afterwards. But, no one can predict the future, we can only make assumptions. If you hány invested, the next few days will decide if it was a smart decision in the end.
