Once we clear out the BCC nonsense, the price will go up. If you buy before August 1st, you will have both BTC and BCC, so you can always dump BCC for free BTC and in case BTC price goes down against the dollar, you still get more BTC. Consider that.

Bitcoin Cash or BCC is a lame duck and its not going to happen, a lot of exchanges are saying that they don't plan on using it and it seems that it's going to be worthless anytime soon. I will hold on buying any bitcoins for a while and see what happens after the August 1.

I wouldn't buy now if it required loading funds to an exchange.  It all seems a bit fuzzy how they are going to handle things, and your funds could still be in flight in the early August time frame.

If I already had fiat on an exchange, I wouldn't hesitate to buy some BTC (before Aug 1) and move them to safety in a hardware or paper wallet.

I'm not sure about the split and price of BTC/BCC after 1st August. Some are saying both will have the same price but it's still not assured and plus if you buy coins now, it's only preferred to store it in an offline wallet rather than online ones. The price of Bitcoin should increase and not fall below Bitcoin Cash as the later being new, I don't see its price being worth the same. Dumping now won't do any good as well as buying. Im pretty sure it IS going to happen, unless somehow they back down, but the main point is, it does NOT matter if they hardfork. Anybody can hardfork at any time, everyone is free to fork BTC into their own alt and call it whatever they want, the difference is if they will get enough hashrate, and enough market support, which I doubt. All whales will dump their BCC for more BTC. This is the final act of faith in the coin. And I doubt that Roger Ver will dump all their BTC for BCC.

Well, especially with the amount of FUD on this forum alone with click bait titles like "Segwit will kill bitcoin or "Bitcoin will die to segwit" it certainly is no surprise that people are expecting a price drop before August. Now that it is August, I can confirm that this hasn't happened. Bitcoin will mostly likely not split at all and August the first will have no impact on bitcoin.

Hmm I know the feeling.I'm always there too. If you are more of a medium to long term holder, you can look for a relatively low point to buy and keep or even convert back to Fiat when you feel the price is overbought and you can again buy back at cheaper price with more amount of Fiat to get more BTC.

When BTC was $600 to $800, I was always afraid to buy bcoz I always thought the price was too high, now see where the price is. I always wished I bought more then.

Yes, it is impossible to target any particular price to buy any investments. If one wants to invest in Bitcoin then don't look at its current price and stop it by thinking it may come down instead start buying immediately with a smaller quantity on a regular basis then you will get a good average price over the time. In my opinion, I think that bitcoin is one of the best investments at the moment, since you might end up benefitting so much from your investment. However, I wouldn't recommend that you consider buying bitcoin at the current moment.  Earlier this morning, I saw this other thread here on the forum, it said that bitcoin reached new all time high of $4800 for the first time, although the current its $4600. This indicates that there is too much risk involved in bitcoin investments at the moment. Rather wait for the crash, and buy it.

I am hoping that by this time you have already learned the many good lessons with Bitcoin. When you let fear took over your better mind and you let go of the opportunity to buy Bitcoin, then I am sure you are now partly regretting because eventually Bitcoin bounced back and is now at the $4,700 level and can soon be breaching the $5,000 wall.

It is funny how things now eventually turned out. OP made this statement in July and now we have bitcoin at almost $4800. What I just want to point out is that at any point you want to buy bitcoin, just do it. Predicting never helps! I believe bitcoin has gone beyond being threatened by bitcoincash. Few months ago, some said the price to buy was too high when it was still hovering around 1,900 - 2,300. So what happens now? They had rather still wait for the value to come down a bit? Buying Bitcoins might be freaking as the price is quite high, or nearly record high. But you know what, it will go even further, more is there to happen, so if you can buy, just do it. There is no assurance that BTC would hold up and still be valuable in the continuing days, however with the trend of technology and other things BTC has held up very strong against conflicts and other factors that might lead to its downfall. It has dipped up and down and has trended towards a collapse but always it has gone up and that is why it is favored to last long as it is still here and considered to be the most reliable in cryptocurrency.

I think you have written this post before the Segwit came in to action. A lot of people like you were also confused about the future of bitcoin that time. However, I am sure, that you have got your answers by now seeing the current price of bitcoin.

BCH is also doing good, but couldn't touch bitcoin in any way. Neither in pricing, nor in market cap. Segwit is already done and the fork succeed. After the fork, approximately 21 days after the fork, Bitcoin reached the 4000 dollar mark which means those who hesitated to invest into Bitcoin before the segwit missed the oppurtunity of making profit out of the risk in the segwit. And now that it was already issued that there'll be another hardfork to happen in the month of November, investors that doubts and hesitates should think twice on whether to invest before the fork or after the fork.

Segwit is locked in, that's what you need to consider. Segwit is inherently bullish except for the conspiracy theorists that claim Segwit is a mistake and could create a DAO type situation within bitcoin because of the transaction format. I think this is exaggerated FUD.

Once we clear out the BCC nonsense, the price will go up. If you buy before August 1st, you will have both BTC and BCC, so you can always dump BCC for free BTC and in case BTC price goes down against the dollar, you still get more BTC. Consider that.

It's not that difficult to stay in the crypto world as shitcoin - even coins with far less overall support managed to survive, so in this case, Bitcoin Cash will stay as well.

Bitcoin Cash isn't anything special. If we look at various other alts, they make Bitcoin Cash look like an obsolete piece of trash. Seriously, why would anyone prefer something such as BCC over LTC, XMR, DASH, ETH? It doesn't make any sense. Bitcoin Cash is nothing more than a get rich quick tool, and thus far it worked out pretty well for the large holders. It's impossible for this coin to remain a value of over 0.1BTC with that many people still not having dumped their BCC's. Ultimately, this coin should have no value greater than 0.01BTC.

If bearish trend just is short term, I still buy Bitcoin because it will comeback, correction of the price is normal with Bitcoin. However, the risk when buy back Bitcoin always high, maybe it will continue bearish trend by panic seller.
