Am I the only one who is under the impression that the price of bitcoin will plummet before day 1 or soon after?
This bitcoin fall to 2400 and the climb up to where it is now get me the impression that the whales are piling up to dump everything before day one.
Also I'm seeing a lot of people wanting to save the bitcoin for the first day thinking that Bitcoin Cash will be worth the same as the bitcoin or that at least they will make good money with it. They are not even realizing how this will devalue bitcoin.

Segwit is locked in, that's what you need to consider. Segwit is inherently bullish except for the conspiracy theorists that claim Segwit is a mistake and could create a DAO type situation within bitcoin because of the transaction format. I think this is exaggerated FUD. Once we clear out the BCC nonsense, the price will go up. If you buy before August 1st, you will have both BTC and BCC, so you can always dump BCC for free BTC and in case BTC price goes down against the dollar, you still get more BTC. Consider that. |

No I don't think like that. We are close to that "before day 1" thing but look at the price. If it will goes down straight then it must be happened now or the price decrease recently should not climb up more. Meaning there are lots of buyers anticipating the price increase after August 1st. P.S I don't see any hype activity of BCC. |

Will plummet? Before maybe but after August 1st I don't think so. Split or not , I don't think it can devalue much the price of bitcoin. Remember the classmate fork of this BCC? No one succeeded and Im sure the same scenario will happened to BCC. Majority of bitcoin users will dump if they anticipate that the price will goes down more. We only have few days to go before August 1st but still price is incredibly getting support at $2500 above. |

Will plummet? Before maybe but after August 1st I don't think so. Split or not , I don't think it can devalue much the price of bitcoin. Remember the classmate fork of this BCC? We only have few days to go before August 1st but still price is incredibly getting support at $2500 above. The price remains at an altitude for several reasons. One of them is the fact of the split transfer to November. People calmed down and decided to buy bitcoin again. I think that we should not give in to panic and behave as if on August 1 nothing will happen. Probably so it will be |

Bitcoin Cash or BCC is a lame duck and its not going to happen, a lot of exchanges are saying that they don't plan on using it and it seems that it's going to be worthless anytime soon. I will hold on buying any bitcoins for a while and see what happens after the August 1. |

I do not even have the courage to buy Bitcoin. Although I believe Bitcoin a lot. Many of my friends have made a lot of money by investing in Bitcoin. So I am thinking that I will buy Bitcoin in the future.

I wouldn't buy now if it required loading funds to an exchange. It all seems a bit fuzzy how they are going to handle things, and your funds could still be in flight in the early August time frame.
If I already had fiat on an exchange, I wouldn't hesitate to buy some BTC (before Aug 1) and move them to safety in a hardware or paper wallet.

I'm not sure about the split and price of BTC/BCC after 1st August. Some are saying both will have the same price but it's still not assured and plus if you buy coins now, it's only preferred to store it in an offline wallet rather than online ones. The price of Bitcoin should increase and not fall below Bitcoin Cash as the later being new, I don't see its price being worth the same. Dumping now won't do any good as well as buying. Worst case scenario was when btc dropped to 1800 but that time is already over.

Bitcoin price is starting to rise at a very fast pace now, I guess the fork was the main reason that everyone is jumping into the market to purchase more bitcoins at the moment, as every users that holds their own private key for their bitcoin wallet would get free Bitcoin Cash after the fork completed, maybe a lot of users sees this as an opportunity to get free money  |

i think it is right that most of the big whales will be waiting for the time when the price of bitcoin will fell down and they will get a chance to buy bitcoin in a low price i think they must be waiting for the right time but i think that the price of bitcoin is not going to dump any more and hope that it will stay above 2500$ even on 1st August. i think need to hold bitcoin and not to sell it in panic time. |

Well, I am hodling some of my Bitcoin assets and some I have transfered to ETH. I hope that the price of ETH won't plummet after August 1. cause it would definitely be bad for my portfolio.

The Bitcoin Cash group might underestimate the support that they are going to get from Bitcoin users. You will have to be blind, not to see that. People have underestimated Bitcoin users before {Example : Mike Hearn} and they got burned. I think people will once again be surprised how many people will still support Bitcoin Core {Legacy Coin}  |

I think it s much smarter to buy alts ATM cause the alt market s been in red for over a month. This will not stay like this once BTC SegWit story gets finished and BCC bullshit alt gets dumped into oblivion.

No, you are not the only one. What i think right now is that the whales are stocking up bitcoins and will dump it right after aug 1 along with their BitcoinCash (BCC). Don't think BCC will have the same value as bitcoin. Eventually everyone will dump BCC to try and make some quick cash. |
