sir, need to re-download the qt client right? Negative, only the interface would change. Blockchain would stay the same, so no redownload technically needed.

Personally I like to solo mine. Not doing too bad on this one either, 6200 + 600 immature.
Diff has recently gone from 0.25 to 1 though so it is starting to tip the scales in favour of pools now.
Are you expecting your coins to be worth something, or you're just mining for the fun of solo mining? I've lost count of the number of "joke" coins that have made it onto exchanges. I'll hold them and see what happens.

How does the current hashrate of FC2 compare to that of ELC? And for that matter, the other newly released coins?

Charlie Kelly: I'm pleading the 5th. The Attorney: I would advise you do that. Charlie Kelly: I'll take that advice under cooperation, alright? Now, let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor? The Attorney: You know, I don't think I'm going to do anything close to that and I can clearly see you know nothing about the law. 19GpqFsNGP8jS941YYZZjmCSrHwvX3QjiC

I vote for Bushtits Coin if we're going the bird route. Not like anyone has ever used the BTC acronym, right?

Considering Feather was used to show how light the coin is how about Flycoin. (flyweight is lighter than featherweight in terms of boxing)
edit: Actualy Flightcoin will sound more proffesional.
