Where did you get this 54 million number? 

Is that the official one?  Or is it much less?

Here is what I was able to come up with.  Initially 150 million.

103,548,812 tokens offered during the ICO.  I guess roughly about 12 million were sold?  The rest will be burned.

5,201,188 were sold in a presale.

41.8 million to the team/advisors/board/bounty.  Of this I don't know how much was allotted for the bounty program because I did not participate.

So what was the point of buying the ALT Tokens before it ended?

The price was 1 USD = 1.67 ATL

But upon trading the price listed at YoBit is 0.000059 BTC = 1 ATL or about 1 USD = 2.6 ATL

So what gives?? What is the advantage of buying the ICO pre launch when you can buy it cheaper after?

The "team" appear to have not burned any of the tokens assigned to them, despite my recommendation.  So the entirety of the ICO (let's call it ~$8M) was spent on roughly 13M tokens.  So the remaining 42M instantly dilutes the token value by a factor of 4.

Do you hate money, devs?  Don't you understand that had you burned 75% of your tokens (whose original quantity was a legacy of an over-ambitious initial goal of 100M ANYWAY), ATLANT would probably be worth two to three times what it is right now, with hype to grow?  You shot yourselves in the foot out of greed.  There is still hope, if you bother to make an announcement that you will be burning an *enormous* chunk of your initial tokens.  You will MAKE money by doing this, not lose it.  You should have burned your own tokens in proportion to what was not sold.  It's ridiculous that anyone should have to explain that.

Absolutely 100% agree with you.  If these aren't burned then there really is no point in investing and holding.  They can dump their 4x the supply at any point.  How greedy can a team be.  Do the right thing.

The devs have 22.5M tokens, higher than the sold tokens in both pre-ico and ico combined. 18.75M ATLs are for bounty participants.

Based from the current rate on exchanges, I am down over 50% of my investment. And when bounty participants began dumping their token, then we won't get any ROI at all.
