For sure nobody has the hold to decide what altcoin would be the next king coins. It depends oh how many people will invest to it and how much would be the value. The marketing and some basic stuffs.

That's right, the price is decided by the market, just like the stock market, the price is not decided by some people. But you can try to see if the project will be a potential one that a lot of investor will interested in it.

If the project is successful enough to attract masses just like bitcoins, the price will ultimately touch the sky but if it fails like altcoins, the price will go down. Somehow the price is also controlled by the investors.

I guess it depends on the response of the communitY towards the coin. If the coin presents projects of great potential and a lot of investors come in, then the coin will probably have a chance to be on top and of high value. But there will Still be other considerations that needs to be noted such as the development of its technology and its ability to keep up with the demands of the population.

Alright, but who invented Litecoin for an exampel and why should people start mining litecoin back then?
There are so many coins nowadays that's difficult to keep up which one to mine. I was started to mine litecoin back in 2015 and I want to try again to setup my miner, but now I read posts that litecoin is properly dead and the pool i used is gone. (Liteguardian).
I have a Gridseed that was connected to my Raspberry Pi. I used Minepeon as the sw. But if Litecoin is dead what can be mine instead with this hw and what pool should be used?

It's no different than any other commodity or fiat currency/ government bonds you want to invest in.
You research all available information for the signs that Commodity X/Fiat currency Y is going to be "the new hotness" and roll with that decision.

if mining is all that you are interested in then your question is very weird! because it has nothing to do with "the coin being the future".
for mining to be profitable you have to look at a couple of factors: 1. how difficult it is to mine that coin. the difficulty of the coin for example. 2. what equipment does it need. for example some coins can be mined with CPU, some with GPU, some need ASICs. 3. the price and how it moves. if you mine a coin with higher price or something that is being pumped you make a lot more than a coin that is cheap or is one the dumping spree.
take all that and deduct your costs like your electric bill, and you can get a good feeling of which coin is best to mine. there are websites that help for this too. like coinwarz. use google to find more of them.

I can not say for sure, only time will tell which coins will be a bright future. We just need to keep up with developments and information about altcoin.
