According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Post proof of a premine or STFU.  Roll Eyes

Isn't posting it in the noob section instead of the alternative currency section hiding it from most miners, when you have a 10k block reward for the first 200 blocks, effectively premining the first 2 million coins?

I guess people don't care since they still get alot of coins per block reward, but those who were watching the board this was put on(including the creator) have a huge amount of coins right now compared to most coins that are posted here or pre posted here to announce the start.

If you read you will find out this was intended to give noobs a chance to get the feeling of setting up /solo mine/ect...

It was to try to fend off the farmers from raping the shit out of the coin at low dif... of course that did not work because as soon as it was up someone posted the link in the alt forum and of course the farmers raped it anyways.

The first 200 blocks had a 10,000 GLD reward

Those are two million coins that almost certainly went to the developer

With the "unintended" side effect of allowing the creator to mine with very little competition the first 2 million coins.  Pretty nice way to effectively premine without literally premining.

Dev's can't win for once a coin was released that smaller miners could have a fair shot and and people are moaning. Every other release is usually out of their reach within an hour of launch, let them off most are CPU mining anyway and didn't take too much off all the big boys

Smaller miners had a shot at?  Smaller miners can watch this forum just like the "big boys", there is no mh/s requirement to read these forums....

Posting it in the noob section is suspect when the initial block rewards were so high.  Less competition = more coins for the creator without literally premining.  Not sure why that is hard to see, Im guessing people already have multiple thousands of these things and want them to have value.

What kind of edick you got? Whats your hash?
WTF would you mine if you dont get any reward? You think a noob is gonna stick around to learn ?
Im not that old here and I have learned a lot in the last month. I can tell you this, if it was not for the easy coins I would not have stuck around myself.

No I do see your point, and you can be sure the developer did take home a stack of coins. Developers have been doing this since bitcoin, so I don't see why its still such a big deal. Also given the amount of alt's being released at the moment the chances of these coins actually amounting to anything is slim, so its of even less significance

And as fast as the fucken coins are launched they get raped.
Why would anyone stick around for no reward? While your fumbling around trying to figure out how to set up your miner you got god knows how many farmers pointing at it cashing in. By the time you get it set up your fucked. You aint gonna get shit.

You probually have no clue how confusing it is to set this shit up. Its easy if you got some knowledge in how to make a .conf or a .bat.
I came here knowing nothing of it. Took a few weeks to get it figured out and just very recently I finally figured out how to solo. Not because I I could read mounds of bullshit that does not even have anything to do with / or does not explain it well enough for a normal user to figure out.

It's more the "you do most of the work, the dev takes most of the money" problem a shady start like this brings.

Miners here are going to get a few thousand(some a few 10s of thousands), if the coin actually hits a exchange the dev will cash out his millions of coins for a sizable reward and the rest will be left with a few dollars worth for their time/effort.

With so many alt coins starting, why support one that is obviously set up to greatly benefit the dev over everyone else?  That's the only thing I dont get, it's not like this is the only coin that's started or will start in the next 24 hours.
