- No, it has not yet happened.
- it is called Bitcoin Cash short form is either BCC or BCH!
- the announcement in altcoin board has all the links (use at your own risk, this is not a suggestion I am just pointing you to the link): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2040221.0
- you will receive the same amount of bitcoin you have before the fork on the fork. for example if you have 1 bitcoin you will also have 1 bitcoin cash you just have to claim it

The UASF has been avoided. The BCC is scheduled for 12:20 UTC, or about 5 hours from now.

Lots of people are still running UASF nodes and if anyone tries to make a block not signaling for segwit the network will fork. Am I wrong?

(I am a 1MB block supporter who thinks all users should be using Full-Node clients)

In Yobit exchange they have distributed the BCC coins to their users who holded the BTC in their account as i got my share. But can anyone tell me how to claim BCC for BTC holded in the desktop wallet.

I believe the correct way of saying it this:
if someone tries to make a block with a different version (not signaling for SegWit) the network will reject that block and orphan it. afterwards there is a chance of a longer than 1 orphaned chain in case someone decides to build on it (for example because of spy mining).
and it won't be just because of BIP148 (UASF) it will also be because all the rest of the miners are enforcing BIP91 and if they do it properly they technically should reject those blocks.

My BTC Core wallet stopped signaling about wrong format blocks/transactions. Does it mean that nobody of miners really is mining big-size blocks now?

My BTC Core wallet stopped signaling about wrong format blocks/transactions. Does it mean that nobody of miners really is mining big-size blocks now?

if the warning you have in mind is this:
Quote
Warning: Unknown block versions being mined! It's possible unknown rules are in effect
then you have nothing to worry about it was the BIP91 signaling which used a different version bit for their blocks. you can read more details about it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2027513.0

if you have a different warning in mind then copy the exact warning message here so you can get a better help.

and the time for neither forks have yet arrived. BCC is in a couple of hours, and I am not sure when SegWit will be finalized and forks. see the details here: https://www.xbt.eu/

If you are a miner with 10TH/s hash power you could do a hard fork and split bitcoin at any time, but who will support your forked altcoin in all the major exchanges and actually in all the exchanges in the whole market? that's the important thing to know, there are already so many bitcoin forks and they are all scams, stay away from any coin that is the fork of bitcoin and only traded on a few low volume exchanges, I don't know how else someone could scam people so easily?

There are also alerts that new BCC wallets will just steal private keys of Core BTC wallets. Such scam could be more dangerous.

But for any mistake to be avoided, Bitcoin Cash doesn't have anything to do with real bitcoin and it will be an altcoin. As far as I can see some people stil think this is like "twin" bitcoin and some also expect to see doubled bitcoins in their wallets. Which is not going to happen.

Does anyone know if any of the wallets mentioned on their website is secure (except the hardware wallets)?

i think a lot less that 10 TH/s would also work for a hard fork. in a hard fork you are changing a lot of things then why not change the difficulty too! and changing that means you can mine with a lot less hashrate than 10 TH/s and still find a block.

but usually all the forks in the past decided to build from block 0 instead of continuing on top of current block. but this time the parasites want the name to give them attention.

It looks like nobody did mined first big-size block yet. Though difficulty may be easier then on BTC.

Thats quite strange. Any comments?
