Is BTC cash an altcoin?

Yes it perfect altcoin and no one can change the fact really.

You can read theymos thread in the bitcoin discussion to understand why it is altcoin and how to acquire it if you really into it. As a definition altcoin stands for alternate coins in which bcc fits perfectly. So yeah you can call it that way. Originality of bitcoin is still preserved and to the date there is no one like it.

Recently, around the news are talking about this issue, many people think BCC is BTC but in fact it is not true, because BCC and BTC have been inconsistent and resulting in splitting. So in my opinion BCC is an altcoin and it is completely independent

I will go for a yes because the meaning of altcoin for me is a coin which is created after bitcoin because we all know that the bitcoin is the very first cryptocurrency in the internet and those who follows bitcoin are called altcoin.

Yes. Anything that followed the footsteps of bitcoin is an altcoin automatically. They are considered alternate cryptocurrency. Although it is a copy of bitcoin, it is still not bitcoin. The conclusion is therefore it is an altcoin, just like the rest.

I think all the coins that on the market now is called altcoins and the only one and only bitcoin they called it altcoins because all of this coins base in satoshi's bitcoin no other creation of coins when bitcoin still not yet born its like bitcoin is the father of all crypto and all altcoins is only he's siblings and childrens. All alts were seems to be a backup of Bitcoin, since we know BTC can stand still after any issues that's why still prefer it yet we still need alts for some other transactions and BCC will only be like it can be used maybe when BTC can't or too high in fees.

I think you can't get the exact answer anywhere because the main reason is the definition which is saying the coins except from the bitcoin are known as altcoin .
Here the official announcement said that the network of the bcc coin is totally independent from bitcoin network , so here we can say it is altcoin .
But still here we are getting this coin from the bitcoin network ( phrase backup , private key etc ) so here directly from the btc , so here in this case we can't say it altcoin .
But here my opinion direct telling that bcc is altcoin only .
Well it is altcoin or not doesn't a matter for us because the future will tell us that with which coin we will go and why and will make the king that coin and other of them will become altcoin .

Why we need this BCC if we have normal old bitcoin

Because the people behind this "alternative coin" think that bitcoin is not really the digital currency they've looked up in the past and they want it to make a turn. If you can read the other posts, it has the same features as bitcoin but with a few modifications. So I think you can say an altcoin with their dream feature to bitcoin.

Moreover, they even maintain that the 'good old' one is actually bcc, for it is closer to classic bitcoin, no segregation here, just a block which is a lot bigger.
I don't think bcc can win over btc and the fact that no natural hard fork took place is actually for it but it is doing extremely impressive now. 50% up on coinmarketcap, already number three in capitalization whereas other coins usually pave their way to the top quite slowly.

I think the same. The bitcoin cash can never ever surpass the original bitcoin.
It will attract people in the beginning as it is doing right now but this spell is going to be over soon. Besides I don’t believe that bitcoin cash is any type of altcoin. Bitcoin cash is just wastage of time.

Is there a scientific explanation in defining if the btc cash is an altcoin? Because i think, for me that any coin that is not a bitcoin is an altcoin, from the word itself tells alternative its an altcoin.

Definately it is an Alt coin like. It is the new version of btc.Just louched this coin it has need more devolopment. After all the coin will be the next btc i think.

BCC is great coin, not using wallet builder or clones of other coins. BCC has own chain. The movement also so fast to become a famous coin.

I consider Bitcoin Cash as an altcoin since I was once read that any other crypto coin exept bitcoin is regarded to be an altcoin. Some might agree while some might disagree.
