Hello, my question is two-fold:

1. Should I keep my pre-order of a BFL Jalapeño, that was placed early February?

2. How much would an early Feb. pre-order go for on ebay? (ballpark estimate)

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies!

Well, what I estimate from their twitter feed, is that units ordered in Feb would be shipped around and about May-June.
Units ordered today would currently ship in 2 months.

OTOH, I did not yet see any significant rise in the GH/s number.... so few -if any - people actually already received one.

Sorry I cannot help you more than this. I'm still waiting for my unit to be shipped as well...

I would sell and get what ever money back that you can. After reading this topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=110805.0 I would drop everything to do with them.

This is all personal choice, At the moment its like marmite.

I would advise against e-Bay though, There's a chance people will claim back if unit is received within 6 months.

My own opinion is keep it, Jally's are being made first, And it's not expensive if it pulls through.

Also BFL states on their site and twitterfeed that on a case-by-case basis they might cancel the order, you could always try that route.
FWIW, I'll keep waiting...

LOL. You are funny. If you mean May-June 2014 then you might be correct.

Based on BFLs track record of failures there's no way in hell they'll ship Feb orders in June.

Heheh.  Cool
Might be, I'm feeling rather positive about it now that they've shipped actual units to e.g. Wired:

Yeah them shipping to reviewers and popular sites is to bring in more pre-orders. Why on earth ship you product to a review place for free when you have customers who have PAID for that item, upfront!

ROFLMAO. BFL is ordering batches of 100 chips and then taking a few weeks to build them into products. Day 2 pre-orders might get theirs by the end of summer. Feb pre-orders will be lucky to have them by the end of the year.

You could look at completed listings on Ebay to see what others with the same preorder date have sold for.

But, why did you buy this in the first place, and if you did sell it what would you do with the money?  Have you changed your mind about mining?

Ask for a refund now.

You'll eventually get one, but you'll never make enough money from it to back for itself.

Avalon batch 2 has just started shipping.

If you don't ask for a refund now or sell for what you paid for it, you will lose money.  BFL will go bankrupt once everyone else requests a refund due to the spike in difficulty expected in a few weeks, once they realize their BFL rigs will never pay for themselves.  The writing is on the wall.  You can choose to drink their kool-aid or see them for what they are:  A company that tried to deliver but failed, and chose to bear the cost of that failure on their customers.

Sounds definitely possible, source? I'm not here to promote BFL, up until now I've been grinding my teeth about the epic suckage and was finally feeling relieved to see units being shipped.  Roll Eyes

I dumped mine that I bought in April this year when I learned they had unfulfilled orders from last summer.  When/if they get rolling with full stock and shipping immediately I'll happily buy from them.

You should check out their own website forum regarding the shipment schedule.

Jody, their sales rep, proudly stated that they were currently done with June 2012 orders, and are starting to ship July 2012 orders.
This was updated last week, so.... not sure if your "place in line" will be worth much on Ebay.
