It is not about my looks here considering my girlfriend is the hottest girl at uni
But I just can't make friends and have been ignored in groups on several occasions on accounts of being boring
Need some help here. ( will be grateful )
I used to be the same but the best advise I can give is the be yourself. You aren't doing anyone a service by trying to be 'nicer' or 'smarter' because then you will have to keep up the act until you eventually slip up. It's like trying not to walk on eggshells. Be yourself and you'll find like minded friends and you won't have to worry about putting on an act. It's cliche but it's true. |

Aside from being sincere and truthful..show them the real you. Because acceptance would mean friendship is genuine. If someone who accept you regardless the reason, then that could go for long.
Don't pretend to be someone just to acquire company, because doing this might end badly between the two of you, probably because of trust issues.

You can also do the question approach, people LOVE to talk about themselves and just show them that you're interested in what they are saying and put some input here and there then there's a big chance you'll gain more friends.

Making friends has little to do with your looks. It has much more to do with your personality. Focus less on your looks and more on making yourself less boring through reading, music, art--whatever interests you. A lot of people make friends because they have similar interests. If you're the kind of guy who walks around saying "I have the hottest girlfriend in school," you're most likely an arrogant prick. Even if she is the hottest. My guess is you say that sort of stuff about everything. You have the nicest car. You're the smartest. You have the most money. Blah blah blah. You can say nice things about your girlfriend without rubbing it in peoples face. Tom Brady doesn't have to tell his teammates that he's married to the most famous supermodel in the world. They know that shit. Just like people know if your girlfriend is actually the hottest girl in school. |
