It's been confirmed multiple times actually, the owner confirmed it on twitter, it was mentioned in an official statement and also it was confirmed on facebook.
But with all the outages, court orders and sueings, it's not going to happen anytime soon probably.

Where did the LTC on GOX originate from? Did Mark K or anyone over at GOX ever confirm it? Surely it just couldn't be some Alt Currency Forum rumor that went viral LOL  ~BCX~ Twitter i do believe i heard something about it being put in the API as well |

It's also been hinted by Mark a few times that LTC isn't the only alt-coin they are going to add but what that means is anyone's guess.

Well by the same logic they'll be adding NMC too. You can do the trick with the API link on all currencies, some quick detective work shows that NMC is also in the running. |
