Bitcoin is a global currency even today that means if there is a merchant anywhere in the world and willing to accept Bitcoins against his goods or services then there is no one to stop you from doing that transaction. There will be multiple effects of it on the democracy, it will optimize the trade process if the transactions are taking place on the international level. It will not only save the cost of the transaction but also it will save the high amount of time if adopted on a mass level internationally resulting in a growth.

not yet. but possibly we will use it as a major currencyin the very near future. Bitcoin or an alternative crypto currency. i dont know which one but blockchain technology provide a very good solution for existing banking system so people will learn and use it.
