Your BTC will give you your initial investing and more.
The alts will be a higher risk higher profit kinda thing.

No way. MAID is extremely risky. They had years, and years to prove their project was viable. They never got to the point where you could say "okay, these guys are making something solid that will end up in a real product". A lot of investors losing patience with their delays.

If I was to spend that kind of money in crypto, I don't see any other option but Bitcoin, everything else is too much risk for that big amount.

It's pretty safe to say BTC will be worth $10,000 during the next decade, those are massive gains if you hold $500,000 worth now.

Maybe it is just for purposes of discussion. If he has it then that's his option to post it online. Though I doubt too that he has it. Or maybe this is his strategy, something like hiding in plain sight kind of thing.

If I had $500,000 in cash for investments, I would definitely just invest it in bitcoins. Prices will likely skyrocket in a few weeks.

If I had $500,000 I would put up a company that would develop solutions that would use the blockchain technology.
It has really good potential for banking, medical records, and other applications. You just have to be creative.
Or another option is the easier route, but tons of bitcoins.

I hate this question because if you have no idea about the market then why are you trying to lose all that money which people spend half their lifetime to earn it. anyway if you really want to make how to grow money then no one thinks that you have to take a risk in order to grow it. it's like gambling but not fully depend on luck if you can practice your skills in the market then you can grow your money with minimum possible risk. but firstly you will face some lose so better start with some very low money like 10$ try yobit or any other small exchange.

In the different is, I have bought BTCs at 300$, but now is 3000$+...
At this time I have 80% BTCs, 8% BCCs and 10% ETHs, 1% ETCs, and some XRPs and Zcashs.
That's all.
I will sell a half of that coins when the BCC reaches 1BCC=200000$, and BTC reaches about 1BTC=2000000$.
That's all my plan.

You can always try BCC. It could be a sleeping giant that wakes when something goes wrong in the bitcoin world. I'm not joking here, having some BCC could potentially save you from losses in case of a huge bitcoin crash, because I believe if BTC goes down by a lot BCC will launch.

BTC is still the best investment right now, but I also own some LTC, BCC and other smaller altcoins. With 500k to invest I'd buy land just to be safe and put the rest into BTC.

That's a lot of money to begin with. If I were you, I'll just invest 50% of if into the crypto world like BTC, ETH, LTC and XRP. Or even in and ICO. You just need to do a lot of research though. The rest for none crypto's like stocks, bonds and Mutual Funds.

This is what I'm trying to drive at. He need's to diversify his funds and not put it all in the crypto industry. So he has still a lot of options in his hands to at least mitigate the risk if something goes wrong to his investments. He can even try real state as well. Different investment choices work well under different conditions and in an uncertain world where the future is mostly unknown, a diversified portfolio is a sensible choice.

Now for the sake of answering your question, buy at least 20 bitcoins now and keep it in a ledger, then open a trading account in poloniex and place another set of 20 bitcoins in your trading wallet. Now, look for the guy named Gunthar here in this forum and buy 2 trading bots from him. The first bot does btc/altcoin trading while the other bot trades usdt/btc-altcoins. Your profit from trading could sustain your wants and needs until you get to the green mile.
