If  I have that much money means I surely go to bitcoin. Why because the price of bitcoin is reached  3000 it required 2-3 year. But now it crossed more than that.Yesterday it price was 3451$.which is nearly 3500$.If you brought bitcoin when the price is low and sell when it's high means u will get double profit

I'm not sure investing in tech is the best idea, seeing as how technology is evolving at such a high rate. Maybe something more stable, more predictable. But that's the big question isn't it?

If i were you, you should diversify your money not only investing in bitcoin also in other cryptocurrencies like ethereum. But 500k is big to invest with so, it will better to invest in bitcoin and ethereum and save the rest of your money just in case something bad might well atleast you have the money.

I do not think that ICOs are good choices anymore because there are too many ICOs and most of them are created in order to scam people. In 2016, HYIPs are created by scammers and very common. 2017, scammers use ICOs as a new scheme to steal money from online investors. You better stay away from them

Depends of how much a risktaker you are. Since you want to put in that amount of money i would go half BTC, the rest in alts.

Your BTC will give you your initial investing and more.
The alts will be a higher risk higher profit kinda thing.

If you want to invest in alt then you should know that you have to keep track of them as well.

I never seen that much money all together.  There are almost limitless things you can do. Splitting the money to 3 parts for succesfull coins , promising coins and ICO's.I don't think with that amount of money you have a small chance too lose all of them.
