I believe that SegWit is already priced in. But then again, Aug 8 is an important milestone that will result in increased media coverage, attracting fresh money from new investors.

Exactly. The price will probably rise,  however probably not much because it seems like that everyone is already positive that segwit is going to be successfully locked in anyways, and therefore resulting in the result few crazy pumps that we have seen.

But even though it is probably going to be locked in on the day it's not 100% certain. There may be a few shorters out there that are betting on bitcoin prices dropping due to somehow Segwit not being implemented/not having a lot of support. Shorters might just be betting on this being the ATH and it's all downhill from here.

So in that scenario, on 8th August aka tomorrow or day after depending on where you live things will probably get more clear regarding Segwit, imo price is going to rise. Now these shorters i mentioned will probably be forced to liquidate their positions due to the fact that they are tarding on leverage + price rising so much, resulting in a short squeeze, pushing the price up even further.

The pump will probably happen before the date because of anticipation of the effect of segwit. I am not expecting too much rise from the current price. Maybe after the effect is felt, then there will be more price hike.

There's nothing left to be expected the btc price is pumping already and have just seen new ATHs. I think it's going to go up and up a few more days. Perhaps some people value btc higher than the current price, so buy according to their subjective value, thus value appreciating.

If by pump they mean hyped-up pump made by a group of conspirators I disagree with them. The price is rising naturally, in my opinion. More and more people are into Bitcoin nowadays and that's why the demand is rising.

On August 8,the segwit will be locked in and block chain will be upgraded to larger blocks.So,more investors would start buying bitcoins which would increase demand and price would increase more,may even cross $3500.So we could expect a hike in bitcoin price.

Now it's 8th of August, and the price is around $3400. We now should only wait and see what will be the way forward. As the whole crypto world is slowly coming out of the shades, the prices should rise continously, with some smaller-bigger dumps, but that's life. As biggest banks and a lot of other companies (Microsoft, Dell, etc) are investing in crypto, sooner or later we should reach the point when the crypto world will be big enough to fail, but it needs time.
Short term goal is now $4000

Segwit has locked-in on August 8th, and bitcoin price increase to $3445 right now, pretty good.
Now, I am wondering what will happen next, whether bitcoin price will be pumped or has steady-slow increases.
We know what will happen after big pump, many people will cash out immediately after it reach certain point.
Pumped to over $4000 and fall down below $3000 isn't a good thing for bitcoin environment, but hopefully it won't happen.

i thin now people do not care for such kind of dates but they are investing money in bitcoin in fact they are too much confident about the price of bitcoin that bitcoin price will continue increasing for a long time.

Currently there has only be a small pump today, of less than $50. And pretty sure the ATH set a few days ago hasn’t been broken yet(correct me if i’m wrong).

It’s not going to be something like the 1st August event in my opinion which the price of bitcoin just completely blew up instantaneously, as soon as it happened. It is probably going to be more of a prolonged pump that will last until the end of the month or maybe the start of next month before slowing down or going down.

Looks like we are just a few blocks to be officially and technically lock-in for Segwit. I think the price is now sustainable in the range of $3000-$3500 now. I'm not expecting a big pump big rather sustainable growth for the next coming months or so. So expect a steady phase starting today. So for those members just continue to hold as the price will grow again.

I usually follow this site https://www.xbt.eu/ so see realtime how many blocks are remaining before the official lock-in. Speculation around this event is that the price could likely go upward. But we can't really tell what the ceiling for it. I think if you are thinking of getting it, now is the best time before everything blows to $4000-$5000 next or even $10000 as you have predicted.
