Of course it will reach $10,000. But one would be silly to just wait for $10,000 rather than wait for the next halving in 2020. That halving would kick this bull run in the nuts and grab ass investors.

The rise in Bitcoin price has been posted on the front page of BBC.com today. The difficulty keeps rising and will always keep rising. Bitcoin is limited in amount. Do the math and $1,00,000 or more up ahead is common sense.

http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-40848505
According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

At the current rate, it seems $10k is inevitable. The question is when exactly? My guess for hitting the $10k milestone for the first time would be sometime in 2021. This guess is based on the fact that the next halving will be in 2020 and that the 2020 Summer Olympics will be held in Japan where bitcoin is recognized as legal currency. I think the hype surrounding the next halving will have more weight and affect on price than the Summer Olympics to be honest. But barring any hugely negative events for bitcoin, I can see 5-digit prices for bitcoin within 5 years.

$10k might look like a lot right now (which it in reality also is), but at some point we will walk over that level in the same way we walked over the $1000 level. Important is to look at the massive potential growth that Bitcoin might/will be experiencing throughout the years. If you realize how insignificant Bitcoin still is today, even $20k will be peanuts in the long term. If institutions at some point start taking Bitcoin seriously, this market will literally fly to levels we at this point can only dream of. It's good to cash out some profits every now and then, but make sure you keep holding the majority of your coins.

I'm really surprised by how conservative some people are despite the exponential growth of bitcoin that we've already seen time and time again. Some people here think it will take 3 or even 5 years to hit just $10k?! That is extremely conservative!! In 3 to 5 years I'd expect $20-60k, $10k will be long since forgotten by then.

I would guess $10k for late 2018 or early 2019, but honestly with the way this year is going (more than tripling in just over 7 months) I wouldn't be totally shocked to see a couple more big bull runs in the next 6 months (we might be starting one right now!) and hit $10k by early 2018.

You are an optimist. I would not be so sure that the price rises so much. I believe in bitcoin, but I see no reason for such growth. Maybe it will reach $ 10,000, but it will not be as soon as we want

People change their view on the market as soon as the price starts to peak or dump. In this case people tend to exaggerate everything by throwing around with bullish predictions.

If the price goes down to $2000 for example, people will start talking about a bear market, and that they expect the price to go down even further.

Nothing wrong with being bullish, but people should remain bullish even in days where the price is going down. If they change from bullish to bearish due to the volatility, these people shouldn't be taken seriously.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

Sure I'm an optimist, why would I be a pessimist?
But I'm not overly optimistic, otherwise I'd be thinking it can hit $6k this year (which it might) and then double every year after that which would have us at $96k in 2021 - which I think is within the realm of possibility but I don't think there is any way it will be that high that soon, I think $30-40k by end of 2021 is much more realistic. But I would not at all be surprised if my own personal goals for bitcoin ($10k in 2018, $50k in 2022) end up looking pessimistic in hindsight during those years.

Your pessimism seems to be geared around not seeing any reason for it to triple from the current price earlier than 3 years from now. It just more than tripled in 7 months. It just went up almost $500 the past 3 days. 7 months ago I bet you would have said it'll take 3 years to hit 3k as well! The reason is the same reason why it could more than triple in the past 7 months, because bitcoin userbase is very small but is growing exponentially. Furthermore rich investors are just barely starting to get into bitcoin. $10k ain't gonna come in the next few months, but it ain't gonna take THAT long. Bitcoin can gain $400-500 over a weekend, or a couple thousand over a month or two, as we've seen this year. It's not gonna take 3-5 years to gain only another ~$6600. Maybe three more bull runs (this Fall?, next Spring?, next Fall?) could put btc at $10k.

Bitcoin definitely will reach $10.000 marks or even more in the future,
and if you're asking about the date, lets make a speculation :
Today price we can see Bitcoin hit $3200 marks and let assume it in the end of this year we will see $4000(lets talk about it without hardfork and another split,it's pure Bitcoin movement),
in 2018 early~mid Bitcoin slowly moving upward and we can see Bitcoin prices hit $5500~6000 marks and repeat again in the future.
So,in my opinion if we keep doing this we will see it around early 2019ish or mid 2019ish.

for 2020 i am expecting $15.000 marks because we will see another halving and in early 2020ish  we can see huge bullrun

confirmed.

There is no price point associated with a bubble. A bubble is merely when the price gets too high and has to dump before going up again. Bitcoin though right now has a very small userbase and so it is growing exponentially and is still in its early phases of growth. Bitcoin has gone through many temporary bubbles (like just recently when it dropped from $3000 to under $2000) but these are always temporary because the price is so low compared to what it will be in the next few years. When we first get to $10k it will be a high price, and if bitcoin happens to have over-extended itself as it reaches $10k it will fall down some, and a few months later $10k will seem so low as the price goes well past it, the way $2000 seems so low now even though it seemed amazing 3 months ago.

The current price of bitcoin today is still rising. There is really possibilities that the bitcoin price rise up to $ 10k maybe 3 years from now.

It looks like bitcoin will reach 10k faster than we predicted, seeing the surprising market movements of the bitcoin market. I also now prefer to hold bitcoin that I get for 2-3 years ahead, if possible it happens I will be very happy

For sure by the time of around the next halving. My amateur guess would be late 2020/early 2021. Hopefully bitcoin is marketed somehow, someway during the 2020 Summer Olympics in Japan as well.

After the price of Bitcoin reached high than $4,000, most holder Bitcoin are feeling happy and lucky because they know Bitcoin early as now. The future of Bitcoin still very promising, so don't waste your Bitcoin if you not want regret in future Grin

This past two years bitcoin show a tremendous rising, the price has multiply so many times, I think the highest peak can be reach this year is 6000$, to reach 10k$ still a long way maybe in two or three years with this kind of improvement, bitcoin has get the reputation now it depends on how we introduce and implemented in our life, so the price can go up faster

So you think bitcoin can 6x in value from $1000 to $6000 in one year and then you think it'll take two or three years to just add another $4000? Are people afraid of $10k or something? haha. If we hit $6000 this year then it is going to fly wayyyyyyyy over $10k next year. I'm thinking $15k-20k next year.

December of this year. 50k at the end of next year, 150k at the end of 2019 and 500k at the end of 2020.

Fiat is no limitation. There's more derivatives than fiat in the world.
