Yes bitgems dont need to buy their way onto an exchange like other coins. Be patient and the loyal following will be rewarded. A few things are needed to get there. First of all a block explorer. Second is a forum.

Mineral: cryptocointalk would be a great place to make the home of bitgems. The site has a dedicated subforum for bitgems which I have been quite active in. Please consider taking a look and talk to the site owner. He would be happy to have cryptocointalk as bitgems home forum Smiley He as well is a long term miner of the gems

I like the idea behind this. I'm sending my hashing power your way.

If I had any coding experience, I'd setup a pool, too.

I'm a decent internet marketer and have some pretty high end servers and graphic designers/basic HTML coders working for me. If anyone wants to team up, you manage the pool, I'll pay for the server, create logos/graphics & market the pool/gems, I'd be glad to have a chat on what we can do together! Shoot me a PM!

The color is silly, and can be changed, but what do you think?

Like the image. Color could be different Smiley

Edit: Something about the B on the left with the gem next to it. Just looks good. Great work!

I agree. Just something I had one of my designers whip up without much input.

Just mined about 32 Bitgems in the past 24 hours.

Anyone want to get a new pool up and running? I have a crazy server I can drop it on. I'm no coder, so I can't program it or learn how to work it on my own, but I am a marketer, and would love to see a dedicated pool behind Bitgem.

Contact me here if you're interested! If need be I can give you some bitgems in exchange for the work.

Ah I see. I read through you site last night. 4x 7950 for $2000 is not a bad deal. Most prebuilt miners have an outrageous markup

I downloaded v.0.4.1.3. Connected and synced, but the app says

WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for block chain to download, or notify developers

I am at the block 7683 and it says it is up to date, so where is the message coming from?

What you need to do is go into your appdata/bitgem folder. Delete everything except your wallet.dat and .conf file. Then re open the client. When the blockchain finishes dowloading the error should go away.

If that does not work. Repeat the process and uninstall then re install the client before downloading the chain again
