it would have been cool if there were the 3 different types, and when you mined you got one of the three. I think that would be a nice evolution of this crypto. Good luck and keep up the good work Cheesy

Thanks, mullick.

The way stake mining works is, it's continuously scanning thru all your transactions, looking for “stake”, which are transaction credits over 30 days old. For example if you received 3 btg 40 days ago, that is 120 coindays of stake. When it finds some stake, there is a chance (depending on difficulty) that it will mine a block with it. That block is just like a normal proof-of-work mining block, processing transactions on the network and helping to secure it. Except it doesn't get a “generate” block bonus.

Instead, as your bonus for contributing your stake to let this block get mined, you are supposed to get a small interest on the amount of stake/coinAge you contributed (because you held that stake at least 30 days, and now it's locked up and you can't spend it until 520 confirms).

To credit you the interest, it replaces the old transaction (the 3 coins, 40 days old) from your wallet, with a brand new transaction with more money. For example, for 120 coindays at 3%, the interest bonus is about 0.0099. so your new transaction has 3.0099.

Nice!

However, because of the bug, the new transaction is currently exactly the same value as the old one! Instead of 3 to 3.0099, it's doing 3 to 3. Also keep in mind, it's a brand new transaction, so now its stake/coin-age got reset. It will have to wait another 30 days to become eligible for stake mining again. So Zero Interest. And using up 120 coin-days of stake in the process. (plus generating pointless transactions).

The workaround with reservebalance=N parameter tells the stake engine to ignore N amount of coins, so it won't use up their coinAge. As soon as you set reservebalance back to 0 (or whatever small amount you need handy), then all the accrued coinAge you had stored up becomes available. You won't have to wait any more time. (of course, it will take a while for the engine to mine through it - you won't get the interest all at once). (You can also just keep your wallet locked to stop stake mining, but then you can't solo mine, and as soon as you unlock it to send money, it would start again). It's ok not to fiddle with reservebalance, you won't lose very much assuming the fix gets in quickly.

To understand the big picture effect here:

There are total 17000+ btg existing right now. The stake interest they should earn at 3% is over 500 btg per year.
That would almost all be lost, if I had not debugged and fixed this issue. (note: the fix isn't in the code yet, but mineral has it in progress).

Basically, I've saved the BitGem community over 500 btg / year earnings. (thus my address for tips, above)

How is this coin 575% profitability on coinchoose?  I signed up for the pool and my 4500kh/s get me like 17 coins a day.  At .005+/- btc

Am I missing something

The reward on coinchoose is 3 while the actual reward is .3. I feel sorry for anyone mining this at 50% profitability.

This says PPCOIN when loading and has a diff loading screen and icon, look you friggin developers, start thinking outside the box...

Another copy coin with no new coding.. honestly.. here's how i know you are not original.

It says PPCOIN when you install, the wallet looks same as every other wallet. (should be embarrassed right there)
and again all wallets are named "wallet.dat" i mean come on, how hard is it to rename the wallet file.

Just cause you cut and paste some gem pictures doesn't make it cool.  you are not a developer so stop thinking you are.

A real new coin will have new wallet name and location, a new wallet design, ease of useability, protection from sending to non wallet addresses, tool-tips, a link in help menu to a website with help or instructions LIKE A REAL PROGRAM!!! - things like this..quit jerkin us around with another copy coin.  I have 36 wallets now all named wallet.dat!!! WTF is wrong with you people.. ?? I mean how embarrassing..

(if i knew code better i could shame most of you with just basic logic ideas)

Ya, probably wrong place to rant but its what happens when you say you are cool, new, fresh, and you obviously are not.

this block explorer is not 100% accurate.

shows my wallet balance lower then my true wallet balance with a transaction being sent same time as one of my sent transactions that is the difference in explorer and my wallet-- and no i did not send the extra amount in question.

I would imagine that that's a change transaction--that is, you sent a certain amount, but because of the way cryptocoin transactions work, your wallet sent a larger amount, with the amount you sent paid to the destination address, and the difference paid to a hidden "change" address in your wallet.

This is common behavior for all coins since the Bitcoin days. See https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Change for a much better explanation.

ok that makes sense--this was my first send transaction and i do recall seeing the extra hidden change detail in my research of bitcoins.

Thank you.

You really dont have a grasp on what you speak of. Developers seem to put more time and effort into the coins features. Not making them flashy to begin with. The flashy copy cat clones are reffered to as pump and dump coins

Anyone else unable to cash out of the binarycoins pool?  I only have 0.026 gem there, but they are confirmed as "paid" and show in my balance.  I mainly wanted to cash them out just to help prove to myself that they are legit.  I get the error "You have no money in your account!"

I'd contact them directly, but there is no contact info.

BIG UPDATE 0.4.1.5

STAKE

Hi, I have done some commits, overall related with stake. Very thanks to Sunny King of PPC for your aid, aLQ and YukonCoinelius.

With removed rounded, RoI will be done for small tx in next stake reward according to a 1-3%basis.

It is required to update before next stake reward, so before 15 JUL 2:00 (ROI is 16)

GEMWALLET

I have buil this gemwallet for quering the gemstones in your BTGs. It shows your BTG balance into diamods, rubys, sapphires and emerald, selecting any subset of these. BTG balance is distribuited equitativelly between gems selected. You can set some property like carat, color, clarity, cut, etc, displaying the balance resulting.

The only limitation is you must to have at least 1 BTG in your current balance. Otherwise, controls are deactivated and you just see default conversions.

Get Fun!

REQUIRED UPDATE 0.4.1.5 BEFORE 15 JUL
