Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Initial information fork.
Bitgem-Plus is a PoW (Scrypt) / PoS / Master Node hybrid cryptocurrency, with a 2 million coin maximum supply, which is generated slower and slower over 50 years. Master Node cost 1000 BTGP, block size is 20MB, and block time is ~2Minutes.
Now team is in final stages of development.

Is Bitgem only traded in Cryptopia Huh
With suply 60,647 is proportional to the current price.
If Bitgem has an exchange other than Cryptopia I believe it will be even higher in value.

People sellin so cheap. If this currency survives, which I think it will due to the support and dev behind it,

This is already said before, I think.
Current cap is currently about 25,000 BTG and Max Cap limit is virtually endless in terms of crypto-time (there is a hardcoded value of 500,000  ), according to ppcoin scheme. The limit of max cap is imposed by rate of mining (lesser than 1,000 BTG / month with current diff), and this one  is determined by reward algorithm (behalve each x32 diff). Rate of gems mining will be about 10,000 BTG/year, so it is a really very very scarce commodity.
BTW, it is possible I release the new GemWallet sooner than thought if I  find a bit more of time.

For me I would incline toward holding my coins and on the off chance that I might I be able to get a few while the market is tumbling down because I think after the cost of coins drops down we ought to anticipate that the market will be pump up in the following couple of days possibly seven days.

If history repeats we might watch a nice pump season from around 20 May and 12 Jun, after that the bear might return.

I am as puzzled by it as you are.
I used to own a bunch of BTG in 2014.  Sold it all off for whatever reason, got a newer computer, and now I'm thinking of getting back into it.  Bitgem has the smoothest blockchain of any crypto I've ever attempted to run.  Most other cryptos I've tried have all the stability of a rockslide.
