Maybe you can check your email ID spam folders or see whether you provided correct email id or not because I too just tried and provided my Gmail id and got the confirmation email ID almost immediately. At my end seems all OK.

Email is only required for claiming the faucet, and until the verification emails are fixed, you can manually verify with live support on the website.

it is Google's recaptcha problem
it keeps you solving it in circles,means that you have to log out of every gmail,youtube or other google related account
if it doesn't help-open Stake in a Chrome browser incognito mode
by the way,I had a faucet button problem a day ago-the button was inactive i.e. the element could not be interacted with
finally solved the problem by logging out of Chrome,then loggin on FF and clearing both cache and cookies
took me two tries,but it is working now
