I believe Stake attracted a lot of users to place bets on those lines with that massive odds boost offer. Without the monthly, of course I was in a loss but the monthly bonus recovered it + small profit.
It depends on luck, some time I wagered less but I loss more, other times I wagered less but making profit and other possibilities.
I'm not a sports bettor, I mostly play original games and slot which are easier/faster way to wager than sports.
Mathematically, the expected loss to wager $100k in 1% house edge games is $1000 but it is obviously an estimation only as nothing can be calculated by math in gambling.

A player can bet more than $100k and lose a bit. Another player can bet a smaller amount and lose a significant amount. Rewards, such as Stake's monthly rewards, can help to mitigate some of the losses, but shouldn't be treated as a sure thing for profit. In the long run the house edge still works in the casino's favor, so don't confuse short-term results with a good long-term strategy.
