Next to Bitcoins there are several different other crypto currencies like DASH, ETC, ETHEREUM, LTC, XRP. Do you believe in them? Are there any Advantages and/or disadvantages?  Huh

Yes I believe in the coin you mentioned above. I have learned the ins and outs of some of the above coin and have invested with some of my money. See them from the developer side then you will understand what i mean.

Of course I believe in them, almost all of them because the reason behind it why so many other altcoins that has been created is because it does a thing what Bitcoin doesn't do or offers. It is just that Bitcoin is the pioneer or the first crypto currency that is why it is so famous and widespread and hold the number one spot compare to other crypto currency coins.

Everything has its own advantages and disadvantages if you may say, just do some research in trusting a single coin because nothing beats your instinct within a thing. If you will just rely on others opinion it is up to you but at the end it will be frustrating if something bad happens.

They are all supports for bitcoin. As they're name suggests, those are Alternative coins, Alternative where in they are just an alternative for Bitcoin, well they are forked out of bitcoin's block chain. I don't understand why are you asking it as an advantage or disadvantage because for me, they are profit in the future.

I can not even remember all the altcoin names that exist because I've seen marketcap and so much and it's spreading in every exchange there. You can earn profits or losses when exchange. For myself I believe in them but few and almost all have been mentioned by you OP

What do you think about the other crypto currencies that exist?

99% of other (non-bitcoin) cryptocurrencies are obvious scams or jokes.

99% of those other (non-bitcoin) cryptocurrencies that are not obvious scams or jokes will probably turn out to be scams or failures in the long run.

As such, only 1 out of every 10,000 non-bitcoin cryptocurrencies have any hope of long term success.  If you think your favorite one is that 1 out of 10,000, then there is a 99.99% chance that you are wrong.

I believe the other cryptos in the eco-system all serve a purpose, thats not to say that they will have value, but they serve a purpose.

In most cases, that purpose is to separate fools from their money.

There are plenty of altcoins that are promising for next years. Ethereum, waves, stratis, litecoin, ethereum classic. These are all good ones to hold for next years. These upper class altcoins are much better than the new weak altcoins. They offer a bright future.

Most accurate and honest analyzation I've seen yet. There are way too many useless crytpo's being created on a monthly basis abusing the term decntralized and million dollar ICO's. Those money wolves just want to gain as much money by making up a cheap project (not even a business yet) and selling it to 'investors' (aka regular people who think they found the new bitcoin). You can't be sceptical enough in today's world, especially when it comes to finance.

I think it is good that there are other crypto currency that exists, for Bitcoin will have competitors. Although as far as I can see, bitcoin is still the one on the top, and I don't think that it will change. Bitcoin is the leading crypto currency.

I think the biggest advantage of these altcoins is that we can trade with them in online exchanges and in return we can get very good profits. Trading in digital currency is most safest and popular investment these days for those who know how to trade effectively. I think it is better for more good altcoins to come in the competition of price and volume.

I strongly believe in most of them, specially the ones that have a strong background, website, white paper, and support. From the ones mentioned above, XRP (Ripple) is quite interesting. There are many others that use the blockchain technology that have a very appealing idea of what the future beholds.
  • Golem, for example, is a decentralized supercomputer that will allow user's machines to combine power around the world and compute any program you can think of.
  • IOTA, is the perfect example for the "internet of things"
  • Siacoin will let you save your files on someone else's computer on a decentralized future

All of these and many more have very interesting background to look into.

I think its better that there are more altcoins born everyday, some are scam and some are legit but the credit goes to bitcoin. The father of all cryptos.

There are numerous digital currencies that have been created after the introduction of Bitcoins. But all these currencies are new to digital world and have failed badly to get an edge over bitcoins. The biggest disadvantage for me is that for the most of time they are in dumping phase, leaving the investors distressed.

Now there are more than a thousand different crypto-currencies and their number is growing. On the market, they complement each other, so their existence must be welcomed. Depending on the support and demand, they have a different price. Some will continue to grow and develop, others will cease to exist after a certain time. These are the laws of the market. Without alternative crypto currency, one bitcoin would be difficult even for independent of its great rate. I think that you can earn on many crypto-currencies, however, it is preferable to store money in bitcoin and several basic altcoin.

Alt coins for me, is the experimental platform for Bitcoin. It would be too risky to experiment with different things on the

Bitcoin network, so we look at other Alt coins and what they are doing and use that to improve Bitcoin. Let's take SegWit as

an example : It was successful on LiteCoin and that made it easier for Bitcoin to consider it. Yes, consensus is still needed,

but Alt coins are the breeding ground for new innovation and new ideas.  Grin
