So when I have my NEO in the wallet, how often do I have to claim the GAS? Can you let it build up over time, then just send it once every 7 days or so, or do I have to sit there and claim it all the time, or it will "be lost" or some such?

I know its a stupid question but I gotta be sure! Thanks in advance Smiley

Damn. I must be living under a rock. I bought some NEO on Bittrex a couple of days ago. I kept it on Bittrex too. What's this GAS claim?  Being a noob sucks.

Warning: Bittrex does not give NEO owners GAS, they actually are keeping all gas to themselves.

For that sole reason I recommend anyone dont invest in GAS at all, since Bittrex is probably sitting on a very large ammount of them that they can dump anytime.

Binance is alternative exchange that gives the generated GAS to NEO owners, however the best way is obviously having the NEO in wallet owned by yourself Smiley

Indeed, they are related. However, it is not traded on Bittrex.

Ok i hold some neo, in a wallet but i read that it only generates GAS for 7 years and only the first year the most. It would decline over time and when the blockdifficulty gets harder it will eventually take 30 years to generate gas. Can someone tell me why the hell i would keep this NEO?

Allso, if i would sell the neo to another person would he then receive gas again like it was new?

I too find all this pretty hard to understand.

Edit: i was just about to make another thread and i figured i just ask it here as i recon it fits this thread.

"loyalty bonus" .. when you have your NEO in wallet, you earn GAS.
I bought NEO 5days ago, sent them immediately to wallet, now I have 0,23 GAS

But eventually it will not generate gas anymor right? And the way i read it somewhere on steem it will run out pretty quick. I thought this would be a nice yearly income but apparently its not like that.

That means bittrex claimed million dollars from all of the NEO that already traded on the exchange site.  Roll Eyes Bill must say thanks to the NEO holders in bittrex.
Look at this chart. https://coinmarketcap.com/assets/gas/
https://steemit.com/neo/@basiccrypto/how-to-claim-your-neogas-using-the-antshares-neo-pc-wallet

Just easy step to claim your gas through NEO wallet.  Roll Eyes

So y'all managed to not answer my question:

Do I have to claim the GAS at a specific time, or can I just claim it from the NEON wallet once in a while and it's fine?

GAS is looking incredible today!

When was it single digits?

What is causing this large rise in price?

Wow, this is really an eye opener. Seems like we all holding NEO were unware of Gas Claim via Wallet. I though GAS is just sold on Exchange which will be used to power future NEO transactions.

I would say keep holding the GAS until you know entire picture. Also doesn anybody know whats the GAS claim rate/amount ?
