hello, I am just about to get 1 UNIT Avalon Miner. I know they do not offer PSU so I was searching other source to buy it. I found several cheap ones, can you please see and recommend which ones will be good ?   I don't want to pay more then 50 USD).    also do I need to buy avalon controller to run one UNIT ?

My simple tip is that if you have 220V or greater mains voltage, go with sidehack kit (HP DPS-1200 + breakout board and cables).
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=940317.0
Quote
DPS1200 PSU Kit (S7/S9 compatible)

This kit includes one DPS-1200FBA 1200W-rates server PSU, one GekkoScience DPS812 board, and ten 18" PCIe double-ended 16AWG cables. Kit pricing is $80, a savings of around 10% over buying everything individually.
The DPS-1200FBA PSU is rated to deliver 900W from 120VAC and 1200W from 200-240VAC, but it's capable of better than that - I have run S4+, S7 and S9 miners off this supply. If you know what you're doing, voltage is internally adjustable from 11.8V-12.8V

PRICE: $80 each

If you have 110V / 120V mains voltage, EVGA 1300W power supply is a good choice.

You need the AvalonMiner controller.

I tried running two 741's with voltage set to 0 off the 2400 watt psu from parallel miner. It ran for a couple hours before glitching out. It was incredibly hot to the touch. Running one avalon per psu is obviously not a problem, but two would not work for me.

Guys. What about server PSU ?
I have ordered Dell 1200 MB A models. They have 80 Plus platinum certification. And output is 1400W.
Are they good for Avalons?

My simple tip is that if you have 220V or greater mains voltage, go with sidehack kit (HP DPS-1200 + breakout board and cables).

Hello thanks a lot, any cheaper version around 50$ USD I can buy from amazon or ebay?   so I must buy Avalon Controller ? for every miner? or?  EVGA 1300W is over +250 USD too expensive   need more options

the controller can run 1,2,3,4,5,6  easy

if you are  a 120 volt guy  this psu is good  if you set the unit to -1

https://www.amazon.com/Seasonic-Power-supply-Supply-SSR-1200GD/dp/B01N7P5NSY/ref=sr_1_2?

Price 199USD  Seasonic Power supply Power Supply SSR-1200GD   too expensive Sad

got in I will buy controller as well. thanks for telling

If someone know good PSU 50-60$ range please tell me

if you are a 120 volt guy the answer = no

does not exist .

maybe 2 psu's   I will look for a sale

thanks mate
LoL i have zero knowledge in this field  how to know if I am 120 VOLT guy? Cheesy

usa = 120 volt for your wall receptacles  in your house

much of the rest of the world = 240 volt  for your wall receptacles

if you have 240 power the cheap kits cost about 100 bucks

but since I like to search  2 of these  will do the trick  and will use    110 to 240

2 psu's will work
