Absolutely. If Bitcoin is to be widely accepted as a currency, we haven't even begun yet. But i'm not so sure Bitcoin's destiny is as a currency. I think it's going to be an asset class, an investment only. What's the incentive to spend bitcoin today when we know it will likely be worth more tomorrow?

Equal to your point though is that most people don't own any bitcoin...but how many people own stock or bonds or a mutual fund? A lot. That's the community of adopters that I believe are on the horizon.

Yes they didint know what bitcoin is because it was not that purely legalized by the governmnt. But its okay because we are lucky that we found and we knew what bitcoin is. Because it helps us a lot especially when it comes to our financial need.
agree with you that still majority of people do not know about bitcoin. because still less that 2% people know about bitcoin. but that is really good to know the users of bitcoin are increasing from time to time, now we can see that people are regularly taking interest in bitcoin which is making bitcoin as more stronger. hopefully that very soon the bitcoin community will increase too much.

We just have to wait for that day to come. Today it will be 0.1 % people knows about bitcoin. But maybe next year or for the next years to come we will see that people are loving to use bitcoin. And once they started to know that it is a great investment, well they will rush on this thing and crave to have some.

The more people know bitcoin the better for people who had already or are into bitcoin,  although just people knew about it and gladly I am enjoying every bit of working and earning via bitcoin I am very sure as more people join this world of cryptocurrencies  there is so much opportunities that is going to opened up for we that are already into it.

Yeah you are right about the opportunities but the OPs concern is completely different than what you thinking. He wants to express that bitcoin is still in backward stages where not much of goods and services are accepting the bitcoin. This is big concern because if you are earning big amounts of bitcoin but you don't have any places to spend then what would be the use of your earnings!

The opportunities will open up in the future no problem but what about today when the bitcoin is just at the highest peak of its valuation. W have lots of bitcoin but only few trusted sources to spend on that too online I guess. So hopefully we will get a way out in the financial system of bitcoin.

Over the last 18 months or so, I have noticed that more and more of the people that I know are talking about bitcoin and are starting to witness just how big the potential of bitcoin is. We have also seen a lot of positive developments over time with more and more countries starting to welcome the usage of bitcoin. We can expect more of these things happening as more people are getting interested and open to the idea of a crypto currency being used on a daily basis.

I am not sure of percentage about knowing people but i think there would be all over 40% still unaware anong illiterates even if 60% would learn and use bitcoin in future.
Only new age youths and people somewhat related to internet can make use of it,others have to choose centralized cash currency method while making payments.

Bitcoin- in bullish time

Most of  the people doesn't know bitcoin because most of us are still sticking with the old culture where we just stick with cellphones and doesn't even expand our experience to research and try new things like bitcoin. Most of the people are focusing in their job but they don't try to focus on opportunities that can help them to leave their job and be independent.

In my country they know bitcoin. The media , mainly the TV has been the biggest advocate of it. They even made a documentary (not specific to bitcoin but to ransomware) and even bitcoin was discussed in depth. The documentary which goes on every week is named "Voyager" and it has a really big audience here. It is from the RAI one of the most respected TV network here.

Many people especially from my country of origin did not know what bitcoin is especially the local. I don't think there is any shop that is accepting bitcoin in my country! Then I keep on asking myself bitcoin has not getting mainstream but it value keep increasing,  and when it gets mainstream what it price will be? Many holders has not understanding the impact of this great technology and what it will be in future and that is why they are selling out of panic.

From my experience it's quite the opposite, I actually noticed that a surprising amount of people already at least heard of Bitcoin. Also press coverage seems to have heavily increased.

It's true, Bitcoin is getting a lot of exposure recently. People at my work are talking about it because it's been all over CNBC. Friends I grew up with are talking about it on Facebook. And the people that I told about bitcoin have mostly all come back recently to ask for my opinions or advice. I hate giving investment advice! I just tell them that I've been dollar cost averaging for years, bit by bit, and trying to earn whatever BTC I can.

Yes, bitcoin nowadays is not yet that popular. When I introduce it with my husband and family, they acted like, "what is that? Networking again?" And its hard to explain it to them because it takes time to fully understand them how it works and how to earn from it. As of now, they are not yet into bitcoin. I will first wait to have my first earned bitcoin so that I can show it show it to them that I have earned bitcoin for real. I am now joining my first signature campaign and I'm excited to finish it. Smiley
But on the other hand, all of us who knew already what bitcoin is, we are all lucky to know this now because we are the next elite bitcoiners in the near future!:)

Bitcoin - maybe true. I got really surprised when I heard that soon a chain of cafe's in my country will soon accept crypto as a payment! But guess what? It's not btc. It is not  even litecoin. It is DASH! Why support dash and how they even now it exists? Still, it's better than if no currencies like that were supported. And btc is really not suit for such thing as payments in the cafes, transactions are not fast enough.

Most people I cam forward, heard about it but doesn't know exactly what is it. One of them doesn't believes the price movement, and think it is done by the creator. But my gamer friends are capable of understanding it as they are able to use it to buy stuffs and games.

Recently the GoT Hack case made many to search about Bitcoins.

Yeah, totally agree! Maybe 1% of the people ever heard about bitcoin or used it. But what will happen if 30% of the people know about it and use it?

Sure, the price will rise to the moon, but what will governments do? Will they accept to give up their out of the nothing money printing system or will they try to strangle it? This is doubtless the key question here.

30% is almost 3 billion people, when so many people get involved in bitcoin price can really go to 100.000$ for one btc, maybe we can give more optimistic predictions, if 3 billion people wish to have some bitcoins then price can really go to the moon. What can governments do? Some of them are legalising bitcoin and bitcoin is becoming unstoppable, governments can just regret cause they didn't buy earlier, like all other people.
Bitcoin will become known to everyone, but not all the people will have that luxury to have 1 btc, and how time is passing chances for that are smaller. Buy it until all others didn't hear about it.

.BIG WINNER!.

Currently bitcoin is not so well known to some, only some know it and use it for transactions and investments or in trade, so far the development of bitcoin is very fast and good, and maybe it will attract a number of new users who will go into Bitcoin and possibly a lot of bitcoin use for both online and offline transactions, and currently bitcoin topped the altcoin, bitcoin can be used as a benchmark for altcoin prices,

In general bitcoin has not been widely accepted as a legitimate payment tool in most countries, therefore many stores are not familiar with bitcoin and they do not yet know how to use it. It is what makes bitcoin has not been able to serve as a legal means of payment so that not many know about payment technology using digital money.

I think it is really good that most of the people don't know what is bitcoin. This means that we are among the 1% (not sure about the percentage) of people that have known bitcoin sooner. That time when all of people know what is bitcoin and need that for their life, the price will be much higher than today. So we will be rich.

sweet dreams hah
i think the most people of the world never get in bitcoin. it could be useful only for already rich people

This happens because it really very difficult to decide to buy a bitcoin for $ 4200. If the person is only going to get acquainted with bitcoin. Bitcointalk is the only forum which allows you to earn bitcoins for review. The more such opportunities the greater will be members of the bitcoin community.
