Actually I'm surprised this has not happened before. Months ago, when Bitcoin was doubling in price, we saw cryptos without solid fundamentals going up much more...

traders always take a chance of bitcoin price increase to accumulate additional stock of alternative coins so be patience and no panic sell  .

They're not actually crashing right now, you have to check their prices in fiat, not in Bitcoin.
Bitcoin's current growth is exceeding the growth of altcoins right now.

There is a lot of hype surrounding Bitcoin and that's also overshadowing altcoins lesser gains.

I know some alts riding the bitcoin wave and are doing fine

but for the unfortunate alts most likely this is because holders are cashing out to buy bitcoins with the lucrative profits it presents in a short  time frame.

It's a common in cryptocurrency, whenever bitcoin price pumping they will sell altcoin to get bitcoin and then sell to fiat as soon as possible to get ROI and then buy back altcoin when price is drop
I really dont understand cryptos sometimes because I thought when bitcoin price rises it gives us power to buy more altcoins than before...which should result in alts been pumped not crashing.

They are crashing because of people selling altcoins for btc but they are not aware of that it is too late to buy bitcoin.

The reason why altcoins are crashing is because Bitcoin is showing a tremendous growth and its price is above 4200$ right now. If Bitcoin continues to grow in coming days, altcoin will keep on crashing.

Yeah man, there really isn’t that much people can do about it when the price of Bitcoin goes up further. Some people will have to lose a bunch of their coins when the price of Bitcoin goes up though they can cash their coins out when the price of Bitcoin does that.

If people were smarter then they would hold their Bitcoins instead of hoping on some new coin to give them more money than they already have. I am pretty sure that most Altcoins are tied to a real currency so the price of those coins will get hurt during a BTC pump.

why altcoins are crashing again
?

I haven't seen any of them actually crashing. There's been a lot of movement on their candlesticks, but as far as crashing it's about the same as normal. What exactly are you basing the question on? Have you seen some significant changes at prices that are above or below the normal average? Because if this point I haven't seen anything that looks good different than any other day in the trading markets.

why altcoins are crashing again

Altcoins are crashing because bitcoins are increasing. A large amount of altcoins have been traded just to get a single bitcoin. When a large supply of altcoin have been distributed, the lower its value will be. If the bitcoin's value is increasing, the altcoin's value will decrease because lots of investors will trade their altcoins to bitcoin. A large amount of supply of altcoin is traded to a small amount of bitcoin. It is just a supply and demand problem.

There is really no big reasons for the dipping of prices right now. This is just part of the volatile market. Right now, the altcoins are already rising. So everything's pretty normal.

By the way, "crashing" is not the right term. There is no crash happening.

yes there was a big crash happening becaus this topic is old and by that time since bitcoin price went up fast and a lot, like always altcoins got dumped hard and the panic selling was all over the market causing the big crash happening.

and it is not just because of "volatility". it is because most of them are pump and dumps which get dumped at any corner!

Buying the dip...

Crash its price? Well this is just a normal thing and nothing to be surprised of. If there are sellers on a certain coin then prices would normally react on that which would go down. If theres a crash and prices are too low then its the best time to buy or accumulate cheaper coins. Its somehow risky to do since we wont know on when it would pump again. Just take a look on XMR now,its pumping as of now later on we would see bears again when they decide to sell.

Once you are in this market for a long enough time, you know that there will be many rises and many falls. Its an up and down market and it's hard to predict exactly what is going to happen.

When you look in hindsight, all the events seem obvious, but it's hard to factor in all the market forces in that short span of time and also it's super hard to "time" the market. Anyone who tried needs to be an expert or else they will probably lose a lot of money.

There would be no market if the price do always pumps up and theres no damping on its price. Fluctuations do happen anytime on the market which signifies that we do have a healthy market because on those price decrease we can able to buy more coins and waiting for the pump again. They do crash because people are securing their profits.

Bitcoin falls now and all altcoins follows bitcoin. I think there is no standard correlation between bitcoin and altcoins, it could change according to the reason of rise or fall
