Escrow is when you use a trusted third party to hold the BTC.  Once payment is received in escrow, then the seller can send whatever is being sold.  Once goods are received and all is ok, you tell the escrow holder to release payment to the seller.  If there is a problem with the goods received, or shipping, or anything the money isn't gone.  You will pay a fee to the person doing the escrow for this service.  Tends to stop scammers since legitimate sellers are fine with doing an escrow, but scammers most certainly aren't!

You can use any of trusted escrow on this list https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=276897.0
Always, always and always do double/triple username check to make if they are the real one. There are a lot of scammer on here who used and pretending to be like them

Escrow is always needed if you are dealing to someone not trusted its just a like a middle man with reputation a trusted member like here in forum like the posted link above the list of trusted escrow they are trusted enough to handle your deal to someone if you want to be safe trade to someone newbie or not trusted member of this forum you can use the trusted escrow and they can handle the deal from your side to seller or buyers ..
Its help a lot when you are dealing to someone and you want your trade safely..

So if you want to deal to anyone better to use escrow always just to be safe..
