I have heard people talk about how quantum computing could kill Bitcoin,
don't just read the questions that people ask, read the answers that others give too.

so would Bitcoin be able to "fork off" into a quantum resistant blockchain in a kind of hard fork when the time comes?

If Quantum computers become a threat to bitcoin then quantum resistant new cryptography standards can be incorporated into the bitcoin protocol as a softfork or a hardfork.

The suggestions that quantum computing could kill bitcoin are made by people who don`t know anything about quantum computers or the blockchain.
I think that the human civilization would need decades to make quantum computers cheap and available for the majority of people.I don`t see this as a threat,perhaps this is an opportunity to improve even further all the crypto technologies.

I think that the human civilization would need decades to make quantum computers cheap and available for the majority of people.I don`t see this as a threat,perhaps this is an opportunity to improve even further all the crypto technologies.

In other words, you're saying that the scenario that would make this threat possible will arrive in mere decades? Even the brightest minds often fail to correctly estimate how quickly home computers are able to advance.

Here's an article about very smart people who knew a lot about their field (computers and tech mainly)... and yet made a few wrong calls. Nothing wrong with making mistakes but point is, what's wrong with ideas?

I still don't believe Quantum Computing is even a reality. There is no solid proof that quantum computers exist outside of Science Fiction.

The reason I don't think Quantum Computers will ever exist is because they insist that TWO Values can Equal a Single Value. This is not possible in the world we live in.

Based on this your argument then bitcoin and blockchain is not safe because if you really follow the way technology is advancing, then you will know that the years that is being estimated to arrive at your conclusion could be fifty years early which is why there is need for further development of the blockchain technology to withstand any attack now or in the future. But I expect that Satoshi in his wisdom must have known this before concluding on bitcoin.

Now that this is answered by everyone here, that a quantum resistant code can be implemented, the new question is,

"Will bitcoin be able to upgrade first before quantum computers can break the code?"

We all know how slow it is to implement updates to the bitcoin code, now it is a race.

After reading this article i think its very hard to bruteforce bitcoin network for private keys but not impossible.
Also there's a company claims that it can make a quantum computer with 1000qbits.
However this claim is not confirmed

Your second statement is very false, and shows your lack of understanding of this topic. Quantum computers do not "insist" anything.
Quantum computers use Qubits, which can be either of two states (0 and 1), like bits, or a superposition of both.
Superposition is a principle of quantum mechanics which states that two or more quantum states can be added up, resulting in another quantum state.

SHA-256

SHA-256 as we already mentioned is part of the SHA-2 family of products, it’s based on SHA-2 but with the capability for larger output strings (up to 256bits). The design of SHA-256 has changed a little, however because it is still based upon SHA-1 people are sceptical about just how sure it is.

SHA-384

SHA-384 is part of the SHA-2 family of algorithms, it is closely based upon SHA-1 but the output sizes are increased to 384 Bits.

SHA-512

SHA-512 is based upon SHA-1 algorithms, small differences do exist however. The string is increased in size to 512bits.
