I would think $100 to $200 is a good start, considering the transaction fees and there is minimum withdrawal fee in the exchange.

If you're looking to make any sort of profit from cryptocurrency and you're just starting out, what do you think is the minimum starting investment you ought to put into it?

Yes, I know "you should only put in what you're willing to lose" but surely there should be a barest minimum, right?

EDIT: If you don't mind sharing, how much did you start with?
If you want only learn about this things then it will be more better for you to invest atleast about 0.01btc because if you will mske investment below this amount than it will not be easy to see the progress that you will made .
So make investment of 0.01btc and buy different different coins with this amount of btc and try to understand , and i think firdt time 10-20 trade will only results into loss only but don't panic here loss will be a lesson for you to do successful trading .
In the starting when I started then got much loss but with time to time i made much profit because with every loss i got the lesson that why i get loss and what i can do so that next time that mistake don't happened .

Minimum investment with bitcoin is varies depending upon the trading platform in which we make the transactions. With trading depending on the increased investment we make the increased profiting happens. It's good to find the one that gives the convenience and affordability.

EDIT: If you don't mind sharing, how much did you start with?
I don't know exactly how much I have invested at first but I think it is around $100 which was some part of my saving. I have invested that in one ICO which turns out to be successful one and got around $300+ from it within few months. From that point, crypto trading/investment got my attention.

You can start with any amount but what you can make with that depends upon how much you can risk.
It is good to hear that you started with such a small amount and got that much profit. That’s the right thing that you can start with any amount for investment. The amount that you can bear to lose. If you can’t handle big loss then just keep going on low amount when you think that you are financially strong enough to face bigger challenge then go for high investment. So in short there is no actual amount to start investment.

Well this is a nice question but according to my opinion the amount of minimum investment varies from person to person. What I mean to say is that it depends on each individual in a personal category of how much the person is capable of to bear a risk and ready to lose a certain amount which may not bother him at all. This amount for someone might be $10 and for some it might be $100 and for some maybe even the price of a bitcoin.

You are absolutely right there.
IMO, if you want to put your money in any investment (ICO) nowdays, you must invest at least $100. If you only investing small amount, it won't give you big profit. There were some great ICO, say ADX and MCO, if you have invested $100 on those both coins, now you would get $300 from each ICO. It means you have turned $200 -> $600 only from that.
ICO are nowadays a good path for the investors as easy investment with kinda less capital and have a scope to double and even put your investment to 4X in a very little time but you have be very careful while investing in an ICO because not all the ICO’s will give you such a profit. There could be many of the ICO’s which can destroy your investment and you can face loss instead of profit. So, it is better to understand first about the features of that currency launched in the ICO.

The minimum investment would depends on how thick is your wallet. Let's say you have an extra bill for investment like 100 USD be sure that this money is not for daily expenses use, extra money is extra money don't touch any other allocated budget that you want to use for investment or trading or gambling it might ruin your financial habit. Then the best win/loose strategy is to divide it by 5 so for a safer level your desire minimum investment is 20 $ and don't put all your winning for another round of investment just put it aside for backup but it is still lie in your hands on how to control your investment.

There is no minimum investment of at least $ 1 if you are trading in wealth but it has long been like bitcoins. In 2007 the bitcoins cost only $ 0.15 $ and you only hold it right now. Maybe $ 1 you are in 6 BITCOINS already and it's worth 20,000 $ so your 1 $ Become $ 20,000 but can you?

There is no such thing called minimum in investments because if you wait for the accumulation of minimum amount then you may miss the opportunity buy things at a good price. So just start with the amount which you currently having and slowly add more over the time. This kind of buying will give you a good average price over the time. I started with around $50 a few years ago and now I have over 20K investment in cryptocurrencies.

Yeah this is true. Invest only what you can or what you have. Its hard to tell that you should invest this specific amount if you don't have that.
Better to start with what you can  and over the time that you have profit you can add little by little.
And also be careful in picking coins, some alts now is undervalue before but pumping hard right now so you should analyze carefuily the market and read the graphs.

There is no minimum investment in trading but if you want to earn big amount of money, be sure that the money that you will invest is a big amount of money. If you invest small amount of money for sure you will earn only small amount of profit.

The more funds you have, the more profits you will likely get. Depending on you will invest it into which coin. Analysis of course you should do before investing, to reduce the risk of loss. 100-200 $ I think it's enough for you to start as a beginner to invest

Yeah it seems that you are right. The more money that you invested, the more profit that you will earn. Create a decision wise that makes yourself convince. I know it is hard to invest because of the high risk.

I don't think there is a mniimum to invest. Well the place I buy bitcoins has a minimum of $20 to buy. But any amount is good.
You can always just buy a couple of Bits each month so by the end of the year you have a nice amount of BTC

Yes there is a high risk but it results a high reward. In trading there is a chance to have a big loss but this is not the time to stop it becomes a lesson to us that we need to have own strategies in order to make the profit from loses into gained and make our own decision become profitable

There are many opportunities to make money in this new economy, you just need to work a bit and then be very smart where you invest your hard earned coins.

It will be good for start that you make some kind of projection what are your goals for investing, so how much would you like to profit and in what period of time. Then you can determine the starting amount. But you should always take care not to invest more than you can afford to lose. For the start you can invest as little as 50$ to see how you can handle your investments and manage the risk and increase the amount with time.

When i do start to decide to jump in trading i did really start on having a 0 capital on doing trading which most of the coins i did earn is from bounty campaigns which i do make tradings on them and make them roll for a matter of time and do decide to sell later on for bitcoin and then buy another coin which do have potential then i do these steps all over again and again until i reach decent profits.

Surprisingly, I too started with that and that's what I'm trying to do. What others have said here about "small investment -> small profit" is absolutely spot on though.

Very true. Just browsing through this forum has proven to be quite useful many times.
