Why people buy etc ?

Maybe they are still convinced if the eth price will rise someday whether it takes a long time or a little with high confidence to stare to maintain loyalty to eth.

Miners mine it but I think that this reason can be developed into something bigger. People in this thread write a lot about the price of etc. It is cheap, it's true. However, I think there is also a thing we tend to forget but perhaps some people don't. I'm talking about eth. I remember talks a few months ago about ethereum preparing to switch to the proof of stake mechanism. Eth must do that eventually in order to survive. And, as it was predicted that the switch happens at the beginning of 2017, I think it is not long before an attempt. If eth doesn't switch - it crushes and people have to move the money into something else fast. Why not to move it into something similar, into etc? If eth succeeds, miners have to mine something else. Again, turning to etc seems probable.

People believe that etc value will appreciate aftert some time like what happen to bitcoin now they think that it is a great opportunity to buy now while the value is really that low and wait when the price goes up then thet would sell them. Like other investor do taking a risk and hoping for a good return.

I think its more on appreciation,because they will only appreciate etc when it takes time,and its also because etc is the brother of Eth so they expect more on etc even though it has low value in the market,and also many people are still believeing in the fundamentals of etc.

This possibility will be news that makes us happy because maybe this will give a guarantee for a better future in the current investment so that many of them buy etc in order to benefit in the current price being up. then it should be able to hold them until the right time

Because etc is a cool coin, it cannot be said trash for ethereum classic for sure but it is just based on some fundamentals and offers it to us like a big deal.

Holding etc now is smart because it’s still cheap and expected to be rise strong in the future like eth – as you see.

People buy etc in case some new developer gets hired by the team and the coin goes into sky, so they could make money. Also it is supported by miners too.

I have been mining ETC since they splitted and i have never felt like it has been a better coin. it is just the other ethereum in my mind. one of these days it might pop like eth

I think they bought Litecoin because they know Litecoin will crawl up. Or even from them know that the coin has a good future.

People do not buy coins just because of its value. It is not always about the price. There are people who supports ethereum classic, thats why they still buy those coins and it is still active.

Every coin will pump if your patient enough.  ETC has been bleeding for a while and probably has a better chance than many for a 2x or more

Because some traders believes that Ethereum Classic values will be rising in the future, maybe that is one of the reason people are storing some of it in their wallet, it is always unpredictable which will be the next altcoins to be rising in values and some traders are hoping to strike rich with ETC.

I don't see any sense in buying etc at the moment besides hoping its price will go up.

Maybe I set my miners to mine few dozens just for holds, cause who knows if it will follow ether price trend and keep at least 10% of its value.
