!!! IMPORTANT UPDATE !!!
There have been several recent positive changes for xspec. For the latest in Spectreproject information, please come to the Spectrecoin Discord Server and see the announcements channel. Thank you! SpectreCoin (xspec) was created late 2016 in a genesis transaction with 95% of the 20 million XSPEC supply going to investors in it's ico.
SpectreCoin features an energy-efficient proof-of-stake algorithm providing fast transaction confirmations and a fully integrated TOR+OBFS4 layer for network privacy almost anywhere in the world. Under the radar and approaching it's one year anniversary the community believed it was time for a new thread to update and present SpectreCoin to more potential users.
Spectrecoin’s Roadmap prioritises privacy, security, and true decentralisation like no other coin in crypto-currency today. And the SpectreProject will further refine the desktop clients and add innovative features to the project such as low-power mobile wallet staking in the upcoming Android wallet.
We invite you to join us... as the world’s economies and their people move into the digital age…. with only their cell phones. SpectreCoin Wallets & Important Links

What is up with all those promoting comments? There is so little information about this project and their website doesn't even have team page. I'd better stay away.

Did you buy Monero when was 30 cents , probably NOT because today is 50 doll s and DOES NOT HAVE team page. You right - stay away (other will NOT), come back when spectre will be 5 doll s. One more thing, if you like pictures and stories , you are on the wrong portal, please visit Facebook

Because our developers from the United Kingdom who created a modern day Hawala system money transfer system to work in Afganistan, Iraq, Iran, UAE, China etc., as a response to the Investigatory Powers Act legislation, want their FACES on a website? Lets not forget the definitions of Spectre: 1. a ghost. 2. something widely feared as a possible unpleasant or dangerous occurrence. Why don't you come directly to the Slack channel which is going 24 hours a day with the developers talking directly to all participants before you leave negative comments, or just stay away in general?
And Satoshi Nakamoto is still anonymous.

Worried about my trust rating? I am too. Bitcointalk users ‘Lauda’ and ‘gmaxwell’ have abused their superior powers in trust system to align their views with the ‘correct views.’ In no legal system in any jurisdiction do we have a definition for what Bitcoin is, they do not have the power to tell us what it is based on the rule of law.

The thing you're missing is that this project is no longer new. It's been way more successful than most at this point in its life and the opportunity in front of you doesn't come around very often. I'd suggest you look over the information....if you have an interest in a really anonymous coin, join the others on Slack and see what xspec is all about. Or simply stay away....the choice is certainly yours.

Quote of myself from above that got deleted by some moderator and was intended to be right under the two spaceholders by beachguy, to contain this post... Awesome project! For all those who are interested in this project, you can read up on the specs and history on this wiki page that I am currently writing: http://coinwiki.info/en/SpectreCoinI have been with this project since the ICO at the beginning of this year. There have been a lot of ups and downs, but recently it's getting better with jbg as our project leader. We have decided to create a new thread because the old one ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1704473.0) was created by mandica who is no longer active, so we had no control over the ANN contents etc.. You can be sure that the current website and ANN will have more information being added to in the following days and weeks. We are currently a small but committed team that mostly consists of community members like me. There is still lacking a solid marketing and PR strategy (as you can see in the contents of the website and ANN), but it's more like an incremental process that we have to figure out and add to step by step. The goal of Spectre is to have a coin with superior privacy and censorship-resistance using Tor. More details can be found on the wiki page. Using the Tor network in an appropriate fashion (not as a proxy, but as a medium of communication) is a whole new step in the space of anon coins, and personally I really like the concept. The extended goal of Spectre is to have an app that allows the user to join the Hawala network ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawala) securely, which means anonymously, digitally, and without leaving any traces of transactions on the phone, which will introduce a new concept called Spectre Cash. Spectre Cash will consist of so called "minted" coins only (Spectre Tokens) that will be spent using ring signatures without the users notice. (To be clear, the ring signature thing will be without the users notice, not the spending of coins ) More details about this will be added to the Wiki page at some point. The Slack invite is not linked in the ANN yet, so here it is: https://slack.spectreproject.io/There are currently a few bugs in the wallet, that are annoying but not critical. One of them is that sometimes the wallet shows a balance of 0.00 even though the balance has been received and is fully accessible. This is currently being solved by jbg. Feel free to ask any questions, I will not be leaving this project for quite some time.

Being on more exchanges does not add anything to the value of a coin IMO. You can trade Spectre on all the exchanges listed here: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/spectrecoin/#marketsBittrex and Poloniex will add us when they feel like it; Yobit is better not to be listed on lol.

Yea, a few weeks ago they were asking if anyone wanted to be part of the beta testing team for the android wallet, you can probably join the Slack and ask jbg

Buy support has tripled in the last couple of days and Volume has significantly increased. I would much prefer a local bitcoin exchange version of Spectrecoin given its nature, and that's what we're aiming for. Certainly out of its league on Cryptopia. At these figures, this coin competes ahead of many coins listed on Bittrex with respect to daily volume and buy support.
