Updates every two weeks (on Tuesday I think) and max up to +14 activity each period.

There are some delayed if you check high rank accounts.. and if the account was posted a lot..

The activity count updates almost constantly, but you are limited in 1 point per day for a 14 day window meaning you can only get 14 points every two weeks.

I am not sure how accurate is this but I think you can find lot more about activity and even your account on Bctalkaccountpricer.info. On this site, you can find out your current activity, potential activity and even the expected time period for next potential activity.

Generally, activity on your account is added in each 14th day if you have posted anything during that period. If you don't post anything in that 14 days period then you won't be eligible for gaining potential activity on your account.
