For me the best way to get Bitcoins was to buy at Coinbase. You could buy at localbitcoins or some other way, but I wanted to buy with US dollars and I didn't want to get into mining.

Once you buy, you can either just hold those coins or can move them to an exchange that allows short term trading. I use Poloniex but there are other similar sites. You can potentially trade to make some profit which you can put back into buying more Bitcoins.

If you are ready to invest not only in bitcoin but in other currencies too, pay attention to upcoming ICOs. Tomorrow Universa project starts its preICO. The details and requirements you can find on their website universa.io. But may be you will decide to wait until they announce the actual ICO. Or look for other projects, this one was just as an example

You are a beginner in this cryptocurrency world. I know that you don't have a prior knowledge about this world. I think before you invest your money, study first all of the information about cryptocurrency.

i will recommend you not to go with the flow. one thing always keeps in mind not to invest in that crypto which is on peak. bitcoin is a very risky investment right now and i will never recommend any one to invest in the bitcoin right now. instead of bitcoin etherium is much better investment right now and i think it will reach to the moon in the near future.

If you are new as you said it is much better to learn first the system of Bitcoin where you need to get to used on transactions and the principle of trading such as buying and selling. The main goal on trading is having a profit out of every transaction so the best thing to consider is having aanagement where you will consider on when to buy or sell your Bitcoin depending on the price and value of Bitcoin.

I am assuming that you are going to hold it for the long term as you used the word invest rather than trade. I would recommend you to use cold storage to securely store your altcoins as we have experienced some bad experiences of the reputed exchanges.

You can either use a SECURELY GENERATED paper wallet or hardware wallet (I am not sure if there is any hardware wallet for the altcoins or not).

Now, I usually go with Yobit and Changelly to buy altcoins. There are plenty of good exchanges where you can convert your Bitcoins to altcoins or even buy it using your credit card.

Since you are only looking for a long-term portfolio investment and you have no experience in the altcoins market (which works quite differently from the rest of the markets), I would prefer a conservative portfolio rather than risk money on ICOs as you has been suggested in previous posts.

Therefore I do not see the need to diversify in too many altcoins since bitcoin in the medium and long term is a safe bet, as well as Ethereum in a smaller proportion and perhaps a little of BCC because it still has a lot of room to grow.

Yes, Op is an beginner to the crypto community. I believe for every beginner self learning is a must and only through that one can be successful. Just entering into it, and investing upon someone's suggestion is not right. It's good to invest researching about different coins and then make the own decision.

That is better advice I think. If you have money and you want to invest in somewhere and be getting some profits and such then you must not be just diving in trading as someone said and you just did. Keep your money safe, go through this forum, and read about trading, coins, investing and then whatever suits you go for it.

Split 90% of your funds between bitcoin and bitcoin cash, the rest you should invest in cons less than $1,with a good project and development team. Do your research, there are a few. The profits from your bitcoin investment will cover what you invested in the alts within a few months, the rest is a gamble that could pay off big.

BCC promoter has gain so much from this hype. They just ride on bitcoins vulnerability and initiate FUDs. Bitcoin is the pioneer of all the coins and almost all altcoins are paired on it. It has a very large base community supporter and that is why I have a solid trust on it. Still, Bitcoin is King.

Go with your gut feeling, choose either altcoins or ICO's. Both have good future if you know where you're putting your money. Right now I invested in Kickico which raised more than 30k ETH in less than 2 hours. I would suggest you the same you do.

why you choose to invest in dashcoin and ripple? You should learn and find out about these coins potential, not bad at all.
I have no doubt about bitcoin, but do not buy it at the peak, I guess bitcoin price will fall in October. But, if you don't want to miss current rally, you can invest now and sell it if you have certain % of profits.

I am not sure there is a company to manage your funds, trade it for you.
But, there are some new projects to invest, if they can make it works, successful, then you may get big portion.
I prefer to trade by myself, choose between coinbase, kraken, bittrex to do it. You can check it this site : https://bitpicker.io as comparison between exchanges.
Google may help about which exchange is perfect for you.

Hahahahaha yes without bitcoin you are not going to be happy in life. This can be true for many cases but not for everyone. Investing money in ICO projects are good because it will help us to make more money easier than the usual way to make money like trading and investing. If we all know how to analyze the coin if it is a worth it to invest or not then it is better to just do ICO investment because you need to invest and wait for the exchange then you can have a chance to double or triple your money within a few days.
