It's not automatic, you need to do it each time you want to get your stakes. You can do it every 3 days and your reward grow everyday you don't claim it during 90 days maximum.

How about the POS staking wallet that was promised in first stages of development? I think a POS staking wallet can help more new users without knowledge to use contract in MEW, to adopt the POSTokens.

yes, well-designed wallet with simple POS mining for POStoken and it's clones would be so nice. but dev is concetrated on lending platform now obviously. so i doubt we'll see the wallet soon.

Even in this time devs are concentrated about the lending platform, I think they understand the POS staking Wallet can help the adoption of POS tokens, because not more know to interact with smart contract to mint POSTokens in MEW.
