Well you should look at the price and what they are making of . Reading what is the coin and if you do invest on their coin what would you get. Think as a investor if it is okay to invest, if okay to invest think if you can get your invested money on that ico. Lot of icos now is really successful but mostly it takes time to get their ico price or other is after listed they hit already the ico price

Of course the first seen is the concept of an ico then seen from the ICO's manner how the making of his announcement thread whether it looks really professional or just kidding and the third is to see who is the manager because the manager will be influential in every ICO

For me:

Experienced Developers with transparency
Project if its good or does really have real life contribution
Funds are being escrowed
Support of the community

These things i do really seek out when i do plan to invest on an ICO.

If you are looking for a good ROI, look and see if the project has a good developer and business plan. See how much the total supply of the token will be and how large the marketcap will be after the ICO. Compare that marketcap with other projects in a similar field.

As an example here is a one I have been following:

So this is a Poker/Gambling token and they seem to do pretty well in crypto and have fairly high marketcaps. The project has some very unique ideas to help passively increase the value of the token over time using deflation. They have a solid plan and how to implement it, they aren't being greedy and asking for $millions, only what they need to get their platform started.

Now lets look at price. ICO price is $0.10 a token and there are some great bonuses to be had, so lets look at total supply. Total supply is 3 million tokens, so if they sell all of them $0.10 x 3 million giving you a marketcap of $300,000. That's nothing in the world of crypto currently, this to me has x10 written all over it when it hits the exchanges as the project is easily worth a £3 million marketcap so that would increase the price of the token to $1.00. With the plans they have for the future this could easily have a £30 million marketcap compared to other Poker/gambling tokens which would x100 your investment on ICO price. Also that doesn't take into account all the free tokens you get from the bonuses during the ICO.

That to me would be things I would look for in an ICO

Firstly, you have to study their project, if their project has a big market demand, or their project can fulfill a badly needed solution to a problem. Secondly the composition of the team behind the project, are these people a well known in their respective position? Third is the uniqueness of the project, Is the project the first and the only one in that field?

You just have to know the project if it is worth your money. You can do this by reading the whitepaper and ANN and joining their slack channel so you can see what is happening on the project. Does it have a good devs or nice road map? Just getting in there and interacting with the devs, you can see if it will be a successful ICO or not.

Top 3 Points before you choose ICO
1. Team ~> must be experienced
2. Project Plan ~> what they are offering
3. Web ~> Should look good, do not choose ICO with website using WordPress

Should pay attention to how the ico is in the future, pay attention to how the concept of ico whether it makes sense or not, the concept of making it clear and know who the team is making ico

There are five basic principles of company verification, before investing:
1) The product that the company makes is needed by the market.
2) The company must have a road map, with a full financial plan.
3) The company is people, so you need to know the command
4) The company should be able to easily expand.
5) The company should have an icon, a person who will move this company forward

I don't really care about what the ICO has to offer
But I want to make sure I can get maximum profit out from it.
I want the ico to give as much coin as possible, dividend, gas, capital gain, everything, I don't want to miss any of them.
And yeah the reason to invest in any investment, is in the end, for the profit it could offer.
I think most ICO are scams, and they are only interested in your Bitcoin or your fiat money, never get into this scam easily.

**Check the website. Do they have a .biz or a really cheap non exlusive domain? Not always an indication of a bad coin, but could be.

**Read the whitepaper and really READ it. Do they have an actual plan for implementation, and what are their short/med/long term goals for the coin?

**Is the coin premined or how is it distributed? Premined coins can suck and be unfair or an indication of a non sustainable coin.

**What does their website, logo, documentation look like? They should have a look that will attract people and not look like it was designed in Microsoft Paint.

There are many more and others have listed a lot of the same, but these are just some I look for.

i think the best thing for you to do before investing on any project is knowing what you actually want in return for your investment (money) i see ICO projects as one of the quickest method scammers use this days to scam investors, in this resent time, almost everywhere you go you see ICO projects waiting to be launched. and differentiating the good eggs from the bad ones could  be somehow challenging at time. when investing on ICO project one thing you shouldn't try doing, is, trying to be greedy! must people that had been scam through ICO project get knock down by scammers due to their self greediness! don't expect much and don't expect less, make sure you do a proper research of the project you are investing on, try to  know at-least 30% of the people/company involved, know their aims and objectives, know how transparent they are, are they active in-terms of complaint? these are the things you need to put into consideration when investing

Most of what people mentioned here I can agree, just maybe previous successful experience with ICO is not what matters the most. Is a PLUS, for sure, but people learn more from mistakes than from success

I have the same question with OP. It look like really hard to know what is the good one to invest cause there are too many ICO project in here and the number of ICO is increasing everyday
