Many good answers here: I would also focus on the community who will have to support and grow the cryptocurrency. Of course, it's not easy to identify it (if it's not indicated in the WP) and evaluate pros/cons but it's something that investors should do.
Also, look if the Cryptocurrencies is really solving a issues that can't be solved traditionally

I usually research about the dev team behind an ico before i invest because that would determine how the ico will move forward. If it has a good dev team, you'll know by reading threads and comments here.

First we need to look at the platform of the project
2. Consider the product that the project wants to develop and the team, the road map of the project
3. The communications department of the project must work well

2 dev team, must experience, not only buy account btt, account must hero member
3 use escrow and campaign manager, ussualy ico selling use tokenmarket is good coin and good rate after added to exchanger

 yes i agree. ICO should have a plan for their future to sustain. a great team and an experience team would make his ico success. and the block management is something cruci factor of success too.

It would be very good if you do your own research about that project which you want to invest. If can't just look at people's responses about that project. That's the easiest thing to do.

I am looking and assesing an ICO if it would be successful by looking on their projects overview or whitepaper since ICO's success would depend on investors they muust have and promising and convincing project but must still be realistic. I also take a look on the team as well as website if it looks neat and not rushed.

For me there are a few signs to look for in a good ICO

- Strong team - Both in development team and also the CEO's / marketing (no point having a great team to create something, if nobody can advertsie it and push the startup in the right direction.
- Realistic vision - not aiming too high or if they do not reach their target everyone who invested will be disappointed
- Solid whitepaper - Well thought out, shows realistic goals, a strong good vision and a plan of action
- Strong social media presence - A social media that shows they are connected with everyone
- Good customer support - Shows they care, and they have invested time and money into making sure the average investor can ask questions
- Good website - A business who is willing to throw time and effort into a good website are less likely to be a scam
- finite supply - ICO's with no cap can be dangerous and can simply just damage their own coin by releasing more for more investment.
-Market they are getting involved with - Is this a new market? or a dying one? who controls the market?

Finally
- Good concept and catchy name - A good ethos and a name that makes them stand out. Personally i would avoid anything that is something "coin".

You should do research about the ico that you went to invest on it and all developments of the ico since the establishment of the project until its launch of the ico

It is difficult to say that, nowadays there are not good ICO's at all. But if you wanna invest into one, then you might do a good research.
When i want to invest into one, i take too much care about those features:
* How much money have they invested into their signature campaing (If they have one)
* Their socialmedia campaing
* Their Whitepaper
And also i do a good research about the funders, if have they had any scam acussation or not, i think that is one of the most important things
