I agree -- I feel like you probably wasted $2000. But at least you'll be able to get back most of that by dumping it when SC increases in value by a few sats -- just watch the markets on it and you'll be okay. I have been holding SC for a while now (nowhere near $2k worth) and I lose more and more faith in it each day.

No sia is just a bad investment. You should sell this bag and look for interesting icos. There are many good projects while sia is just old and forgotten. Remember one thing, always invest in new things as they can make you a lot of money.

In a way you are right, many projects only last a few years so it is a mistake to think you are going to hold an altcoin for a long time, it is better to think about altcoins as short term investments, one that you are willing to drop at any moment, since there are only a few altcoins worth holding for the long term and I do not think siacoin is one of those.

Yeah it's better to observe first the market capacity of the coin and in fact right now the altcoins speculations is not that profitable and you won't even determine what will be the outcome in the future. How sad if it freeze for a long time that would be such a big loss of time,  you will have to wait for longer time; merely cause you stress on your mind. You cannot depend on what's siao coin did before with the price, because it maybe the signs of the crash of the coin, so you better option for other coins which could possibly rise higher next month like pillar or encrypto tel.

Note that even though SC (Siacoin) has its BTC value down from 800 in the past months, its FIAT value is still the same.

The main reason it is down is because of the surge in BTC price.

Siacoin is a solid project (team, tech, product, etc) and is one of my top picks for long term holding.

That is a sensible choice but the issue is that many people get excited about the possibility of making a lot of money and then invest all their money in a single coin, they may get lucky once in a while but most of the time the market is brutal and punishes any mistake that you make, that is why before investing it is important to read about trading strategies, if you do then it is unlikely you are going to be trapped in this same scenario.
