Ripple is a money machine they should and could afford anything. I'm impressed with the key speakers lineup.

I agree with you, I think most ones who hate ripple due to the some reasons like centralization still buy ripple to make profit and that's normal. It might not be a good coin considering basics of cryptocurrency but it doesn't change that it is money machine.

Ripple doesn't really solve the most serious problems with the aging financial industry. They beg big banks to use their tech, but they don't really change banks. LakeBanker plans to bring finance into the zero marginal cost economy. We coordinate a massive network of individuals, merchants and other institutions that provide banking services to one another. We call this concept "Crowd-Banking". We do to banks what Uber did to taxi companies or what AirBnB did to hotels. We're a spinoff of long-standing crypto-exchange LakeBTC and the LakeBanker system has been operating in Beta for 1.5 years. Check out our ANN thread or our whitepaper if you're interested.

Ripple is currently my largest investment in altcoins, the potential is there, even last week when it went up 60% I didn't sell (In hindsight probably should have sold and re-bought on the bounce). If more banks start using this and it becomes the technology to replace swift, in a years time we will be looking at a 1$ price tag.

Quite interesting, but I still think BTC will do better in the future. Specially if the lightning network works well when it gets implemented. When that gets done, I think BTC will probably have a chance to compete with paypal and who knows, maybe visa or mastercard. Still great new for Ripple, and I will probably buy a few, since it's price is quite low.

Might be the same for Ripple in the future. By running all transactions on-chain, they risk having high or volatile transaction fees in the future.

Is this still not a centralized coin?
Nah, Its hella centralized. Im not even sure how they do it to be honest. There's probably an internal ripple and an external ripple. One we can all buy, the other is completely shielded. This is the only way it would make sense as thats probably the only way that it would be really easy to get banks in on this. They dont play with their money in the same way, if there is no bottom line, there would be no incentive to participate in something like this. I guess Ill take my tin foil hat off now... but honestly something to think about.

I used to think that it's decentralized but I learnt this is wrong. So it's a company owned by some people. No reason to invest in it.

A cryptocurrency is supposed to be decentralised and UNREGULATED. I have the impression that Ripple is regulated by the banks.... leading to a fake crytocurrency

Ripple is a slap in the face for every crypto that is honestly trying to do something good for the people. Every investor in Ripple is a traitor who helps abolisking the principles which made people belive in cryptos.
Yes, I have to confess that I took part in the 4000% bull run on Ripple which happend erlier this year, but once I did a detailed reserach on ripple I never investes a dime in this project.
It's kinda sad that the crypto community is more and more favoring greed over making the actual revolution happen that crypto stood for in the first place.
