Hi, I'm part of a team that plans to create a token in the future. We are wondering how we can secure our token symbol and name now so that it doesn't get taken. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

You forgot to mention in what platform do you plan to register. If it is the case for Ethereum, you need to look for the Token registry smart contract and learn to deal with it.

There are no legal way to reserve a symbol, trade mark of any sorts when you are operating in crypto sphere mate, the only thing is the exchanges

Willing to list your coin or not, for example we have a token with the ICN ticker, now there is one ICN in yoshit(yobit) which has nothing to do with

The real ICN(Iconomi) and it cause confusion for many people, some even bought that fake ICN thinking that they are buying cheap tokens. overall

You need to check and talk with exchanges to pre-list your token name/ticker to avoid any conflict.

If you're building your token on Ethereum, ENS is your best bet.  Also, youll want to put the token name into the token itself (the ERC20 standard allows this).

This would probably depend on which platform the token is being created and launched on.
