Come play Satoshi Buckets, a game with a winning strategy! Here's the rules:

  • Put your coins in a bucket. Minimum bet is ฿0.005.
  • Every round one bucket falls, if all buckets have at least ฿0.05.
  • The coins in that bucket are distributed among the backers of the other buckets.
  • The buckets that did not fall continue into the next round.
  • Winning buckets can keep winning over and over again!
  • GIVEAWAY: Every day until June 27, one random backer will get ฿0.1!

Hey everyone, I made a new Bitcoin betting game. Here are the rules:

  • There are three buckets: red, green, and blue.
  • Put your coins in a bucket. Minimum bet is ฿0.01.
  • Every round (~10 minutes) one bucket falls.
  • The coins in that bucket are distributed among the backers of the other buckets.
  • The buckets that did not fall continue into the next round.

The three buckets are:

  • red (42% chance to fall): 1RbucktdB7agZuX1qdjce4PYbURRaezc7
  • green (33% chance to fall): 1GbucketpG4rHKict89wWGJLhM1jD9RCac
  • blue (25% chance to fall): 1Bbucket59CEs93UrZDKeDJ9cETxFEm9xE

You can see more information at Satoshi Buckets. My recommended strategy is to bet on whichever bucket has the highest long-term expected value. (Click on the link to see the calculated expected values.) This game is provably fair! It also doesn't cause blockchain spam, since rounds happen at most once per new block. Try it out!

Just a heads up. I changed the minimum amount per round requirement. Now it's only necessary for there to be ฿0.01 in each bucket for a round to be triggered on new block. This means that, at this exact moment, anyone betting on the green bucket has an expected payout of 120%.

Cool idea man.
I think a more proffesional design will atrract more people to place bets.
Also, you can make the minimum even lower

I can do graphic design for you.  I'm not very established on the forums so I can do it for a low price.
(it's a win-win, you get a low price and I get more rep on the forums!)

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I don't think setting a lower minimum is a good idea -- the transaction cost starts eating up all of the bet. Right now the minimum is around $1 per bet. I don't think that's too much.

The Goat Master, send me a PM.

Hi pheaonix, thank you for reporting this! I will reimburse you manually, and I am already at work trying to prevent this problem in the future. Due to an wrong coding, Satoshi buckets can't find the return address.

Technical details: I'm using the change output to find the return address. This doesn't work when a transaction doesn't have a change output, like this one. So now I have to look at the script signature to find the return address.

Thanks! I think buckets has the advantage of not causing blockchain spam. It's a slower paced game, and isn't purely chance-based, either.

Satoshi Buckets has passed the ten round mark! In the last ten rounds:

  • Red won 5 times, with ฿0.10 = $12.91 received total.
  • Green won 8 times, with ฿0.121 = $14.75 received total.
  • Blue won 7 times, with ฿0.071 = $8.65 received total.

I'm making improvements to the interface. Check it out! Also, there's a rather large "jackpot" for the red bucket, right now.
